Very knowledgeable skipper and guide, we saw 10 grizzlys in total, even the Tide Rip staff were really impressed. Breakfast and lunch excellent. Definitely worth the money, I have a bridge camera and am happy with my photos, the memories are more important for me. A lot of money but worth it for a once in a life time adventure.

The tours go out of a picturesque and historic location called Telegraph Cove where you can even spend some time and stay in their campground or one of the historic buildings. When you head out for your tour you get on a boat for a wonderful days adventure that is guided by very competent naturalist who love what they do and know the area well. They take you over to Knight Inlet where you know you will be seeing more bears in one place than you ever expected. Along the way you may see whales or dolphins and the scenery is some of the best in the world. And as if the trip was not enough they even provide a bit of food and refreshment in the form of coffee and muffins on the way out along with some yogurt and lunch is a great treat at the dock in Knight Inlet where you enjoy the beauty of the area while having some great food. This is by far one of the best tours we have ever taken.

Drove up to Vancouver Island from Seattle and this was definitely the highlight of our trip. We stayed in the Telegraph Cove resort the night before and the tour started at 7 a.m. the next day. Our tour guides were fantastic and really knowledgeable, quick to answer question and you could see the passion for what they are doing.
The boat ride to Knight Inlet takes about two hours with plenty to see on the way. Saw plenty of bald eagles and a couple of whales passed by while we continued our trip.
Temperatures were around 70 degrees that day which apparently is perfect for the bears to come out and be active.
We saw 4 mama bears in total, one individual and three of them with their cubs who were between 1-2 years old. The setting was very intimate with only our boat of 12 people watching the bears who didn't blink at our presence and continued to walk, eat and play along the shore. We definitely took our time and were in no rush watching and taking great shots (highly recommend 70-300mm focal length lens) of the bears. On our way back, we also saw a lot of seals and two black bears who were climbing the rocks right by the water. Allowed us to get super close and take great photos as well. They are super fast climbers! After a quick stop at Lagoon Cove, we came back around 4 p.m. Definitely a once in a lifetime memory and highly recommended!
