Once again we enjoyed our week at Pacific Shores, great accommodations and beautiful surroundings. We had a great view of Craig Bay. Even had a few visits from local wildlife. Very peaceful relaxing time.

We also enjoyed the Smoke and Water restaurant and entertainment.

Our standard queen room was spacious and clean, had excellent in-room wifi, and although not a suite, it still contained a fridge, microwave, ample dishes, etc. Although it was not an ocean-view room, it had an ample ground-floor patio pleasantly-shaded by vegetation. The grounds, especially along the seaside walk, are very-nicely landscaped, which was one of our principal reasons for staying here, as was the coastal location with tide-pools. Wading is possible with reef-shoes. Also, they had kayaks available for use in the bay. A restaurant, seaside hot-tub, and spa are were available as well, though we did not visit them. Finally, the staff at both check-in and check-out were very friendly.

However, the resort seems to be undergoing renovation, so some of the facilities were not available, and some of the grounds were roped-off. Call ahead for an update if there is something in particular (like the pool or water-play area) that you are expecting to use. Also, the in-room TV's are on the small side, if you are confined with kids on a rainy day. However, none of these were problems for us.

Room tip: The seaside rooms overlooking the grounds seemed quite nice.

Great first impressions on room but later realised it was run down and very noisy (plumbing)
Outside light on all night shining into room
Cleaning was average with bits and pieces found throughout the unit during our stay
Leak under sink reported rectified with bucket until maintenance next day
Resort itself is a great location and worth the stay

Room tip: Go to beach hot tub and BBQ facilities available

When I arrived, I had flown from Denver -> Vancouver, rented a car, and driven out to the ferry, taken it two hours across, and then driven to the hotel. I was pretty tired and hot and sweaty when I arrived. They were nice enough to accommodate me with a top floor room (I was originally booked into a ground floor room) so that I felt safe leaving the door open at night because the room was pretty warm when I got there. There's no A/C in the room, however, there was a tower fan by the patio door that helped to blow cool air in. Everything was quiet and comfortable. There was a fireplace, a TV, and a nice bathroom in the room with a mini fridge, some dishes for prep, and a coffee maker and microwave. The only negative things I could think of (for the sake of a rounded review) are one, the walkway outside the room is paved with come kind of rounded stone, so if anyone moves their luggage on wheels while you're sleeping? Yeah, you'll hear it. And two, there is no ocean/water view...unlike the photos you'll see. I had a nice view of the garden area in the center, but there is no water view. It seems that a majority of the property is actually some kind of ownership or timeshare or something...there were a lot of more permanent residences closer to the water, but you can easily walk down there. There was underground parking which was nice too, so I didn't have far to go. The staff was very courteous, and I had breakfast at the restaurant one morning. It took forever to get food despite there only being two other tables occupied, but it was decent breakfast food, just a bit pricey. Overall I'd stay here again...it was absolutely gorgeous down by the water, there was live music, and the restaurant seemed to draw a good crowd at night.

Room tip: Water view might not be an option without an upgrade.
