I booked the room through booking.com. I put the wrong date in for saving the room, which happened to be an off season rate. When I arrived to check in, there was no record of me having a reservation for that day. However, the desk associate said I lucked in and they had 1 remaining room, but I'd need to pay for the inseason rate, and recoup my money from booking.com because of the error. Again, this was my fault. However, I spent my evening trying to contact booking.com; there isn't an advertised phone number. The next morning upon checkout I asked the front desk associate if she could provide me with a phone number for booking.com. After of approx. 5 minutes of searching she did find a number. Keep in mind, this is may error. I left to meet with customers and during the meeting I received a call from the local area code. I didn't take the call due to my meeting. However, once I finished I called the number to find out it was the manager at Days Inn. She proceeded to tell me she heard of my issue and wanted to help. She credited back my night stay from them and kept the charge from booking.com. She said she knew I'd have a difficult time trying to recoup the nights stay I was already billed from booking.com. She also went on to say she was going to honor the out of season rate I was billed for from booking.com.
I was very appreciative the Days Inn manager took this initiative. Because of how I was treated, I would definitely recommend staying at Days Inn Miramichi, Nb. I will also be more cautious when using an online app. Keep in mind, this was my fault.
Thank you Days Inn
Sincerely,
