Nice 👍

Econolodge is a good place to stay.
The hotel is just as the hotel pictures show.
Beds are comfortable.
Room was clean, which is most important in my opinion. I parked right outside the room. It was quiet. The grounds were clean.
I would recommend Econolodge.

Hotel is updated and refurbished. Bed comfortable, chair and desk in room. Lots of hot water. Continental breakfast offers boiled egg, fresh fruit, waffle iron, choice of 3 cereals and several types of bread. The Hotel is very quiet. Well located within a block of waterfront. We did not eat at the restaurant on-site just because we wanted to eat outdoors on a warm summer evening.

When you see a property priced at under $100 (actually under $80) you get a bit worried that it may not be comfortable or clean. Just the opposite here! This Econo-Lodge is at a relatively quiet corner with a small town vibe nearby. Clean? Yes. Comfortable? Yes. Two Queens, nice linens and pillows. A/C and an opening window. Updated bathroom. Wi-Fi. We asked for first floor and were just a few metres from the lobby and breakfast room. Through a connecting door from there and you are in the very good "Chatters Pub and Eatery". This was advertised as a Three Star property and it certainly was. No, not the Ritz but it can stand out as what the chain identifies: An Economic Lodging. Nice reception by the owner, breakfast choices a bit upscale, easy parking at the door. And a nice smile when leaving. Our rating of Five Stars (or Circles) is that it meets our expectations and then some at a surprising budget price. We'll be back and have already recommended it to friends.

DO NOT GO HERE, DONT SPEND A CENT!

I have never been treated the way I was last night, at any establishment in my life.
“econo lodge miramichi”? take your business elsewhere for hotel accommodation or lunch at chatters because its owned by the same people who verbally assaulted me last night, made me feel physically threatened, took my money and kicked me out.

i planned a night of surprises for my best friends birthday, Starbucks and pedis, supper with the girls and a cheap hotel stay for a tiny get away right? I thought so anyways, well I thought wrong.

I went to check in and the man (owner) at the counter was already abrasive(very short sentences, annoyed look on his face). they had taken the money off my card already but I needed a credit card to check in. This is how it went

Me “well I don’t have one, but you can definitely take a deposit off my debit and just put it back after you’ve checked the room for damage when I check out in the morning”
him “no! you need a credit card or your not staying here”
Me” you already took my money, what do I need to do? I don’t understand”
Him” get a credit card or leave without your money”
Me *frustrated me thinking trying to figure out who I could call, looking in the distance THINKING… I pick up my phone and go to call my husband and roll my eyes… NOT EVEN FACING TOWARD HIM*
THIS MAN STARTS YELLING AT ME “ as if you think you can give me a look like that GET OUT!”

At this point I’m just looking at him flabbergasted, APOLOGIZING, For what? I have no idea! I was so confused as to why he was yelling at me.

He storms passed me and I was scared he was actually coming towards me to hurt me. Im calling Stephen to try to get what he wants, he proceeds to walks past me 2-3 times, walking aggressively and will not answer my questions like “where am I supposed to sleep?” Or “can I have my money back?” Or “are you going to speak to me?” At the last of it I spoke loudly and said “are you going to speak to me how can I resolve this?”

Him *yelling* “ YOU CANT, you’re not staying in my hotel! I have never met anyone like you in my life, to be treated so disrespectfully and I would never have anyone stay here that was as disgusting as you, leave your not welcome here!”

*me sobbing calling my husband and him yelling in the background* “leave! Leave!”

I left there with no money and no where to stay for Tal’s surprise, completely gutted So I called travel lodge miramichi sobbing and they helped me so much, even helped me call bookings to get my money back from the econo! (Which I did get my money back, but only because bookings refunded me)

We only ate at chatters because I had dropped of the birthday cake and balloons and was literally scared to go in there by myself because of what this man put me through that afternoon, scared he would meet me in the restaurant. Don’t get me wrong we LOVED chatters, frequented often! The girls there are sweet and caring and would give ya apron off their hips but I will never show my face there again.

Very nice, clean hotel at a good price. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, building nicely maintained.
There seemed to always be staff around, cleaning windows, sweeping up the parking lot and sidewalk areas - and everyone we spoke to was very friendly.
Located in Newcastle, it’s within walking distance to downtown shops, Ritchie’s Wharf, playground and splash pad for kids.
    Would definitely stay here again!
