Our overnight experience recently at Blair House was wonderful. Lovely and quiet. Clean and very comfortable. Our hosts made us feel right at home. From evening tea and cookies in the parlor to a scrumptious breakfast, we couldn't have been more well treated. Sadly this lovely B&B is up for sale and will be sorely missed, as there are not many places to stay in the area. Thanks for being such gracious hosts and good luck with your next venture.

Room Tip: Quiet, comfortable. Within walking distance from restaurants.

Thank you for your kind words about Blair House and our staff's service while you were here.
We are still open and will continue to be open to atleast the end of the year and then on a 3-month calendar rolling forward. We hope to see you again, either here at Blair House or, if we do sell, at our smaller B&B in St. Stephen. We'll keep you posted.

Our last night in Canada was so comfortable. The room was clean and comfortable. We were offered tea and cookies in the evening in the living room and breakfast was sumptuous. He even asked us what we wanted for breakfast and it was cooked to perfection. Too bad it is is for sale!

This is a wonderful place. It has a convenient location for entering Canada. It is clean spacious and very quiet for an excellent sleep. The breakfast is great with wonderful hosts. Unfortunately it is currently for sale, and if no longer a B&B will be greatly missed.

Given the poor state of motels in this area, I think the Blair House is the only place you should stay. A wonderful, historic house in a great location, it has a superb owner who is friendly, informative, and helpful. All the five rooms are well appointed (I looked in all of them) and have private baths. Air conditioned with a 32” flat-panel TV and a huge number of channels, the rooms are a good size and very quiet. You have an easy walk to downtown, the river, and restaurants. It is especially well located for events at the Civic Center. An excellent place to stay.

Scooper47’s Top Tips: This is my most important tip in over 50 reviews: do not rely on the availability of rooms as indicated on the Blair House Web site! Call the owner at his toll-free number (888-972-5247).

Thank you for your very kind words and thorough review of our B and B. Guests do like the fact that, after a long days drive, they can take a short walk down to several restaurants and eateries near the waterfront and not have to get in their car again.

We recently stayed at the Blair House on the way to the Digby ferry. It was a beautiful house with very nice owners. We had a delicious breakfast (3 choices) and our room was very nice and clean. St. Stephen was a very cute town.

We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Blair House. It is a leisurely drive along the Bay of Fundy on NB Route 1 to the ferry terminal on this (west side) side of the City of Saint John; Just over an hour.

We have stayed here quite a few times over the past few years. It is half way between home and NH where our daughter lives. Each evening at 8:30 all guests are invited to the living room where David (the owner) serves tea and "Bickies" . He is English and it's like having a Butler waiting on you. There are always some interesting travellers present and a stimulating evening is enjoyed around a fireplace and soft, serious music. This is so much better than sitting in a motel room by yourselves watching TV.

Over a full breakfast the next day these friendships continue. Before retiring the night before David asks what time for breakfast and provides a number of choices, including a mixed grill, pancakes, eggs, fruit cup and a wide variety of cereals. Of course, coffee and tea along with jams, cream and milk.

The mansion has a great history going back to the 1800's. A very pleasant stay in a comfortable, quiet surrounding.

My only concern is the booking. Normally I call direct to make a reservation but, this time I went on line and saw what I thought was there website only to find it was Hotelone.com. I made a reservation which was confirmed by Hotelone.com. I checked the out on line and found a great number of complaints. After calling David B he said it was OK. On my return trip to Blair House I booked directly with him at a much better price. My advice is to book direct with them and not a middle man.

Thank you for your kind words. It's always lovely to see you both again on your way into New England and then on your return to Nova Scotia. Guests who do choose to partake, do seem to enjoy the evening tea and chats in the living room and the continued conversations the next morning around our large breakfast table.
It is fine to book with one of the online booking sites where we are listed. When booking directly with us (telephone, email, text, website, etc.) we are able to offer additional savings to past guests and multi-night stays. David.

I was very happy to stay there for 2 nights recently.

The atmosphere was warm and cosy with the hosts David and Judy doing an excellent job running the place.

Spotless comfortable rooms with all the modern conveniences.

Delicious and generous breakfast with a range of choices.

I would highly recommend to anyone visiting St Stephen - if you can get a room because they are in such high demand!!
