It was these reviews that made me book this B&B so I have just reread the reviews of and the Viking Village B&B and what we got is not how it is described. “Home made Bread” not when we were there. The cheapest bread on the market was what we had. We booked in 2021 and our booking was for two bedrooms for three nights, with a queen size bed, a balcony facing the ocean, what we got was the “ Shed” . The “shed is a two room addition away from the main house. It was put together with second hand doors, old bedding and old towels. It was clean, but very small, just room for a double bed and one small dresser. I have no problem With using recycled product, in this case the doors but at least have the decency to repaint them. Cheap blinds, one tiny window and no screen door. A small fan to move the air around and of course no window in the bathroom.
The B&B was fully booked and there was not enough seating in the cramped dining room for us all, we had to wait till some else was finished. The window in the lounge was broken so you could not open it and it was very hot. I know COVID hit the tourist trade and people in Newfoundland are trying to make a decent living but we did not get what was advertised or what we BOOKED.
There was no host to greet us, just our names on a board. If it had not been for another guest we would not have know anything. The ladies who did the breakfast WERE GREAT did the best with what was given them, but Bologna offered for breakfast??????
I have contacted Terry, the owner to share my concerns but as of today I have heard nothing back from him, thus I am writing my review.
The only good thing about this B&B was the location and how close it was to the Viking Village, an absolute must to see.
There were lots of repeat guests there when we arrived and so I guess my standards are high, but I have traveled the world and I do not stay in five star hotels because I like to experience the local people and place we stay in. I cannot in all good conscience recommend this B&B
