We recently ate at The Norseman in Lanse aux Meadows in Newfoundland and it was excellent! The atmosphere was very inviting and cozy. The owners are very nice and like to visit the tables to talk to you personally. The husband, the chef, takes your order and when you ask about a certain dish he explains with a smile what it is. Also very accommodating. They even have a delicious dish for vegans which was a pleasant surprise. Being a vegan in Newfoundland is almost impossible, but not here plus the chef created dish was delicious! His wife, the other owner, also writes her own children's books. They were so cute we ended up buying 3 of them. A definite must!

Billed as one of the best in Labrador. And based on two weeks here it is. Snow crab, shrimp, fish stew and salads all very done very well. And the first decent wine list of the trip.

The fish was perfectly cooked and everything was tasty. Dining companions loved the duck confit and lamb. It is pricey and portions are not generous but enough. We liked trying the local berries. It is a unique location and great to try if you are in the area. The sunset out the window was beautiful.
