Only hidden because it is about as far away from the rest of the world as most people get in North America! Northern tip of the western peninsula of Newfoundland. Well worth the journey. Inside it is warm, and the menu is more "urban chic" than "hole in the wall." The staff is friendly and the surroundings are what you might expect from such an historic, weather-exposed area of the Rock. Close by are great B&B's such as Jenny's Runestone House. Walk around a bit after dinner in the shadow of Leif Ericson.

Hidden gem, but you have to go about as far north as possible in Newfoundland! The staff is friendly and the food is more "city" than "outpost". Nearby B&B's such as Jennie's make the stay complete.

Just beyond the L’Anse aux Meadows’ site, its bright lime green building shines like a beacon. The fish and chips were fine. There was some live music, playing some local tunes. The place, like many restaurants in rural Newfoundland and Labrador, had a homey feel. Across the street is a statue of Leif Erickson, killing two birds with one stone.

My wife and I had lunch here today. I had a small bowl of chili with pork for $13. It was just warm, the small piece of cheese on top was barely melted and the beans tasted like they were from a can. The dish tasted more salty than spicy. My wife had the roasted tomato soup with again tasted more like it came from a can. We did not order the $9 beer as we had the same beer at a restaurant down the road for $6. It was a nice setting but the food was definitely not worth the price.

We only wanted to have a snack there and stopped. It was a lovely place and the food was really delicious! If the weather is nice you can also sit outside and can enjoy the view !
