Kevin's tour was full of fascinating information. He is a great story-teller and has a dry wit. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, despite a somewhat drizzly day. Well worth it!
Very interesting tour with info and stories about different people who lived in Trinity over the past few centuries. Not a lot of walking as the town isn’t big. Highly recommend.
So informative. A must do when visiting Trinity. Kevin was so knowledgeable and articulate. We developed an understanding of the difficulties about 16th Century living in such a remote area.
Guide, Kevin Toope, is a 3rd generation fisherman & teacher from the area. He gives an outstanding tour of Trinity and of the culture and lifestyle of the area! He shares a wealth of historical information as well as his personal experiences growing up in Trinity. As an added plus he shares recordings and photos to give you a a sense of what Trinity was like back in time. This is a must do tour when you’re in town.
Kevin is an amazing guide who shares his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm. We learned a lot about Trinity, life in Newfoundland and the way that the historical society has preserved the town, and now many generations will be able to return to learn about it too. He talks fast but I could always understand him. He was very generous with his time and knowledge.
We just completed the walking tour with Kevin. It was nothing short of exceptional. We learned so much about Trinity, the cod fishery and Newfoundland lore - it was unparralled in terms of everything we have done in this area. It was simply exceptional. Easy, accessible walking with lots of history and lore about the area. Not to be missed. At the end of the tour, Kevin showed us around the fishing cabin and explained the salting of cod process to us. Thank you ever so much.
