“A wonderful place to visit in Newfoundland”
Reviewed September 14, 2010

Trinity NL was quite a little surprise to us. It was our first trip to Newfoundland and didn't know what to expect as far as the towns go. Trinity is very quaint and historic, surrounded by wonderful scenery. The Rising Tide dinner Theatre was fun. The locals are very friendly. We also did some wonderful hiking trails in the area. a short, but breathtakingly beautiful one is the Upper Gun Hill trail. Don't miss it! The Skerwick trail is better known and highly rated. We enjoyed that very much as well. We took a drive to the lighthouse which I would also highly recommend........however best to have a pickup truck as the road is quite rough getting there. We didn't get time to do the historic walk in the village of Trinity, but did hear from others that it was very good. If you get a chance to attend a 'Kitchen Party", don't miss it......lots of music and good snacks.

“Quaint getaway in Newfoundland”
Reviewed August 24, 2010

We have just returned home to Ontario from a short first time visit to Newfoundland. Two nights were spent in Trinity. What a wonderful little town. We stayed at Maidment House. A great choice of B & B. First evening we attended the dinner theatre at the Rising Tide Theatre. Great local talent to get you introduced to the flavour of the province. Second day enjoyed a very scenic 5 k hike on which we saw eagles and a whale. Highly recommend this hike. In the evening we had dinner at Twine Loft owned and operated by a Mother and Daughter team. Top notch food and excellent wine list. Following our dinner unknow to us the restaurant was hosting a concert by "The Once" Excellent Trio from Newfoundland.Tickets were sold out, however, upon hearing we were eager to attend sold us reduced tickets to sit on their deck(dock) to hear the concert. We were provided with huge cozy blankets and Muskoka chairs and watched and listed to the talent through an open window. During intermission we enjoyed an excellent fireworks display put on by the village to celebrate the Trinity Festival Weekend. We were unaware of the festival before arriving.

“Prett little community”
Reviewed September 21, 2006

Area is lovely, you can do the theatre to occupy one night but after that the options narrow. Some brilliant marketing however. You are expecting some sort of resort destination. It is important to do comparative shopping on accommodation prices. Use the Canada Select ratings and pay accordingly. Quaint is a concept but overpriced is overpriced. What might be fine for bureaucrats on an expense account to savor the outport flavor, may not be so fine when you are on your own coin. If you have the extra coin you want to dispose of go for the real thing, Fishers' Loft, otherwise go for value at the Eriksen Premises
