This is a clean Motel, with nice layout and view of the Bay and Hills. If you need Gluten Free food, the dining room does not cater to you, but nearby, the Telegraph House menu is 100% GF. They should consider changing the morning breakfast to a self-service.

We stayed in one of the 'chalets' as the rooms were all booked. The chalet was very tiny and dated. The mattress was horrible, but we did enjoy a dip in the lake and the pool. It was not worth what we were charged.

Room tip: Don't book a chalet, the regular rooms are much nicer.

We checked in for two nights and was given an end unit with a great view of Bras D'Or Lake. The room was clean and nice but a bit dated. After driving for a number of hours we didn't feel like searching for a place for dinner so ate at the hotel's restaurant and thought it was pretty good. They were full and so service at breakfast was a bit slow, but it was much better the following morning. The room was far enough off the main road so there was no problem with noise, and it was a very short drive into downtown Baddeck which has a lot of shops and restaurants along the harbor. Excellent value and highly recommended.

The exterior belies the quality of the restaurant. Gorgeous views of the Bras D’or lakes while you sip on a bottomless cup of coffee. They do need to offer real maple syrup though. The waitress was engaging and friendly and good at her job. The food was hot and prepared exactly as ordered. Would definitely eat here again and it is recommended.

This is a nice motel near Baddeck NS; we stayed 3 nights; it is clean with a nice view of the "lake"; convenient to downtown Baddeck and the Cabot Trail; as others have mentioned no mini fridges; there seemed to be plenty of space for one; it would be a great feature; especially for folks doing the Cabot Trail and wanting to take cold drinks or lunch with them; being able to re-freeze ice paks would be really helpful too. While not as important as a mini fridge; newer TV's would be good-could be mounted on the wall. Restaurant was ok, certainly convenient! We had Brenda as our waitress, she was friendly and helpful about area attractions. Would stay again.
