We arrived and go to check in only to see that we have to stand outdoors in line to check in and it was a very slow process...checked in and resort is pricey so expecting a nice room...plain room very sparsely furnished a bed two chairs very small dresser no table no desk no frig no luggage rack and the smallest TV I have seen in a while...told at check in that pool towels would be in the room but no they were not and in fact there were two thin towels for a shower. We go back to stand in line again for towels and were told they would deliver them...we had a scheduled pool time for 7 pm as you have to book it..no one shows up with towels message them yet again and at 3 minutes to 7 they finally bring the towels...go swimming the pool is very nice but you have to go outside to another building to the pool so we drove over only to find out when we come back to our room there is no where to park. I definitely would not recommend this resort...I have travelled all over the world and this resort and service is not very good. Lesson learned and it goes into my travel book as not a good place to Stay. If you pay for a room you should have a place to park and towels and somewhere to sit your cup and suitcase down.

First impression of the resort was very positive until I opened the door to our room. The smell of a rug past its due date hit me before we even entered. The rest of the room was equally impressive. During check-in we were advised that there would be no housekeeping service during our stay, so cannot comment on staff service. Basically, it was an $80/night room for twice the price. The resort has lots of potential though and they are building a new main lodge. Next time we are in Baddeck we will either try the new building, depending on price, or stay at a different resort.

Room tip: Ask for a room in the new lodge (opening 2021).

The Inverary Resort is an older resort set in a beautiful setting on the Bras D’or lakes. The outdoor amenities are fine with a large property with numerous activities available. The problem starts when you go indoors. The rooms are tired and dreary. The carpet was musty and damp. The bathrooms are dark and dreary. Everything needs updating. We were told there are newer rooms available but they were not open this season. For $180 per night, this is a gigantic rip off. The rooms remind me of an old Super 8 motel you pay $59 for! Dinner at the Lakeside was quite expensive for what you get. The salmon was tasty but was only a 3 oz portion at best. I was still starving at the end of the meal. and $17 for a glass of wine???? The included breakfast was scanty as well. Even in times of Covid, surely they could serve TWO pieces of toast with your egg instead of just one! This is definitely our last stay here!

Very comfortable accommodations and very close to Bell Bay Golf course. Very clean and friendly staff. Would stay here again next time we come to Cape Breton. We ate at the Lakeside Restaurant on site and the food was excellent!

Had the sweetest little cabin stayed here twice now. Had a porch swing and a very comfortable bed little pot belly stove and a hot tub right in bedroom. So very enjoyable! Great restaurant! Worthwhile stay
