Baddeck is a lovely seaside town with a fascinating museum dedicated to Alexander Graham Bell. We took in the museum, and went exploring for lunch. The exterior of the historic Inn is quite charming, and it drew us in. The interiors match perfectly. Our server and host was gracious and friendly. There's a lovely vibe here, and as it was around Canadian Thanksgiving, it seemed like locals were coming in for a special treat. We had sandwiches and fries for our lunch, and they were very good. Our sandwiches had lots of flavour, and you could tell they source local fresh ingredients. The fries were nice and crispy, but oddly, they were served in a little metal basket, like A&W does, which wasn't in keeping with the overall Victorian charm. If we're ever back to Cape Breton, we'd look into staying at this Inn!

The Lynwood Inn is traditional old wooden Inn to which has been added a modern concrete block of rooms. The restaurant and gift shop are in the original structure and I am not sure if any of the upstairs is still used for sleeping.

The location is in the interesting portion of the town and there are several restaurants within walking distance. The Nova Scotia Liquor store is 10 minute walk up the hill behind the hotel. We also enjoyed strolling along the waterfront pathway.

The block with the rooms are easiest to access from the parking lot behind the Inn and the entrance is on the second floor. Guests with mobility issues should ask for a room on this level as there are no elevators. The rooms are quite comfortable and have air conditioning but the units are quite noisy.

The restaurant on site is excellent and we enjoyed both breakfast and supper there. There is a large veranda at the back of the old inn that had a large table that we were to sit and play cards with friends.

We would consider staying at The Lynwood Inn again on a return visit to Baddeck
