The Silver Dart property is very large so don't be fooled by what you see from the road . Has a pool and exercise room , even their own nature trail . We had a chalet which was roomy, had a little deck, was in a quiet location and well furnished.
Their breakfast buffet was very good and reasonable . We missed the evening buffet but by the looks of it , it too was lovely. Dining room has lots of space and it too is quiet. menu is very good and prices for such a nice location are reasonable; they even have some local musician play Cape Breton music many mights . The Front Desk staff were really "pros", extremely polite, anticipated every question it seemed , and certainly know their way around the Cabot Trail. Tiny glitch : Some floor level heaters have their own thermostat, not a wall one , awkward, and make sure you haul out the extra pillows .

My wife and I really enjoyed the property at the Silver Dart Lodge. You can take a bike ride to
downtown Baddeck, swim in the lake, throw some horseshoes or just enjoy the view from the veranda. There is always something to do instead of just staying in your room watching TV.

The Silver Dart Lodge is located at most a 10 minute walk from downtown Baddeck so if one of the bikes is not available, it is an easy stroll. The road can be a bit busy with tourist traffic in the summer so do pay attention.

We were in one of the older buildings so the walls were not as sound proof as I would like. When the neighbours air conditioner developed an annoying squeak, it bothered us as well. Thankfully they turned if off as the night cooled down.

There is nothing spectacular about the room. It was functional and the decore easy on the eyes. One item of note is the mini-fridge. Always a plus for storing supplies for a day trip.

We did have breakfast in the restaurant and it was yummy. Do try to get there early or late
enough to get a window view.

After our last disappointment staying in Baddeck, I have to give a high rating the Silver Dart Lodge as it was on target for our stay in Baddeck.

We had a groupon for the silver dart lodge and used it at the end of August 2011. Our room was in the main lodge and was completely renovated (except the washroom). The staff was so helpful and the food in the dining room was very good, you cannot get a decent meal anywhere else in Baddeck. Beautiful ocean views as well, would return any day!

Okay accommodation....nothing fancy for sure...but I guess we were spoiled after our previous night's hotel (on the road through the Cabot trail). Spartan pillow supply - hope you brought an extra with you. For the price I think next time I might try one of the other establishments closer to the center of town....but it was late and we didn't really want to do any further investigating!
....an okay placed to stay

My wife and I and another couple spent 2 nights at this great place.
We got a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the Bra d"or lakes, it was a spectacular view from our very comfortable king size bed. The room was clean and up to date. The balcony was great for cocktails before dinner. We ate one night in the dining room and it was absolutely fantastic service, food, and entertainment. We aslo had breakfast there and it was equally as good. We would stay here again and we hope to in the near future. Well done guys, the staff were great..

Room was a little dated, but large, clean and comfortable. Easy walk into town.

the room we booked was the least expensive with no view and after reading some of these reviews I was a little worried that it would be awful. However we found the relatively large room to be clean , quiet and comfortable. The lodge is very nice and has many little extras like bicycles that you can take into town.
we took the deal with breakfast included and we were quite satisfied with the variety and quality of the breakfast buffet. my daughters favorite was the oatmeal "bar" of all things!
we also had our supper in the dinning room and found it rather pricey althought every thing was tasty and hot. I do suspect however that there prices are in line with the rest of the restaurants in town (unless you want a slice of Pizza and who wants pizza in Baddeck?)
When we got to baddeck I was surprised to see how many charming inns and bed and breakfasts there were. As I was researching this trip on line I barely found any. so the silver dart has my voted simply for being with the times and advertising online!
