This was a welcoming place (with it's extrovert owner!) and we were lucky to have 3 nights in the top front room with fabulous vistas. The breakfasts were good. There was enough off street parking. It was very clean and was great to come back to after a day out. There wasn't any eating options within easy walking (well the walk would have been easy along the road but it was a little bit of Baddeck itself, this wasn't a problem for us as we just used the car).Would recommend.

Room Tip: I think all rooms were great but the best views are from the front of the house

We rented Cottage 1 and it was excellent. It has a full kitchen, gas grill, & a partial view of the lake. Very large, well-kept yard with lots of plants & trees. The internet service was sporadic. The only reason this isn't receiving an excellent rating is the condition of the pots & pans and the coffee maker. Keep in mind that while the brochure states "a stroll along the bay (1 mile) brings you to the center of the Village of Badddeck". This stroll is more likely to bring you to the morgue; this is a busy road with little or no shoulder. Drive to town.

It was hard to leave Broadwater Inn. Thanks so much for your kind hospitality, for telling us about the history of the building, for that crazy map, for the delicious breakfasts and for the peace and comfort of our room. The moon rising over the water was the cherry on the icing on the cake. How did you arrange that?

Our four-night stay at the Broadwater was one of the best travel experiences we've ever had. Because we wanted to stay for four nights and we (unknowingly) booked at the beginning of the popular Celtic Colors festival, the place was almost totally booked, so we stayed both at a cottage for two nights and at the Inn itself for two nights (in the Library). Despite having a very different "feel" both accommodations were very clean, attractive, comfortable, spacious, and very well-appointed with great bathrooms, comfortable seating, and very comfortable beds. (And the staff made the room transfer a breeze.) The grounds are beautiful, and both our cottage and the inn have a great view of the water. John the innkeeper is a delight- helpful, knowledgeable, funny, and very welcoming. We found ourselves in the midst of a "reunion" of sorts of repeat guests who immediately welcomed us in, and we got a lot of good tips from both John and guests on things to do and see in the area. Because the festival was starting there was excellent music played on the front porch that my husband delightedly joined in. Baddeck is a lovely town and perfectly situated as a starting point to explore the Cabot Trail and the rest of Cape Breton Island. We can't wait to come back.

We arrived a little later than expected to be greeted by the other guests sat on the balcony chatting and generally having a good time. We were instantly made to feel welcome.
The room was large, spacious and clean, some modern mixed with lots of older historic and in keeping items.
A great location to just sit and watch the sun go down and ideal to get you back on the road again. Breakfast was tasty and enough to set you up for the day..

From the moment we arrived, John the Innkeeper was ready! We had a lovely, impeccably clean room with a water view! Breakfast came with our room and did not disappoint. Days were spent on the porch, sipping a drink, listening to other guests "jam", playing Celtic music. What a great Nova Scotia vacation! Highly recommend!
