Domaine de Grand Pre winery is one of the must visit wineries in the Annapolis Valley for any oenophile. A picturesque location coupled with great Nova Scotian wines makes for an enjoyable visit. They even have an interesting mini museum of sorts on the lower level where the washrooms are that is interesting to check out.
A couple things worth noting for visitors:
First, the winery is very popular among the wine bus tour operators so if you are visiting on your own you may run into large tour groups on your visit, even on weekdays in the fall as I have two years in a row. A little extra patience may be required if you’re not a big fan of crowds. If you encounter a bus you can always head just up the road to Luckett Vineyards first as a number of tours go there after DGP and then double back afterwards.
Second, for Air Miles collectors there is a very nice Air Miles perk available to you. DGP offers two for one wine tastings with your Air Miles card which is great if you’re visiting as a couple or just looking to sample a greater selection of wines.
