“Tourism Tour”
Reviewed 7 November 2016

This was an amazing opportunity to get to visit this winery with my NSCC Tourism class, it was absolutely beautiful, and I learned a lot about whine, and grape harvesting. The property is simply stunning, and the staff was nothing short of superb. I believe my favorite part was the whine tasting we did, and the fact that the owner himself guided our tour. The tasting was one my favorite experiences because I learned how to "properly' taste whine. I myself am not a huge whine lover, but the apple liquor we sampled was delicious. It was a beautiful day for our excursion, could not have asked for a better experience. One of the best parts was the table made from an old tree that was removed. I would really love to have the opportunity to dine on it sometime, it was great. This is defiantly a must when visiting Wolfville, it has a very cozy "homey" feeling to it, and I would recommend it to anyone, whine lover or not! It is defiantly a perfect place to spend time with friends, and get to know new ones. It was defiantly a day of bonding for our class, when we attended. Everybody should get to experience this place, weather your a tourists or not.

“A staple of Annapolis Valley wineries”
Reviewed 12 October 2016 via mobile

Domaine de Grand Pre winery is one of the must visit wineries in the Annapolis Valley for any oenophile. A picturesque location coupled with great Nova Scotian wines makes for an enjoyable visit. They even have an interesting mini museum of sorts on the lower level where the washrooms are that is interesting to check out.

A couple things worth noting for visitors:

First, the winery is very popular among the wine bus tour operators so if you are visiting on your own you may run into large tour groups on your visit, even on weekdays in the fall as I have two years in a row. A little extra patience may be required if you’re not a big fan of crowds. If you encounter a bus you can always head just up the road to Luckett Vineyards first as a number of tours go there after DGP and then double back afterwards.

Second, for Air Miles collectors there is a very nice Air Miles perk available to you. DGP offers two for one wine tastings with your Air Miles card which is great if you’re visiting as a couple or just looking to sample a greater selection of wines.

“Extensive tasting, informative staff”
Reviewed 4 October 2016

We had a "standard" tasting at Grand Pre, which included L'Acadie Blanc, Rose, a dry Muscat, Leon Millon, Castel, and a choice of either Pomme d'Or or Cream Liquor. The staff member directing our tasting was very knowledgeable, and as we discussed oenology, he offered tastes of several other Grand Pre offerings, including a reserve baco noir that was quite delicious.

The grounds are extensive and lovely, and visitors are allowed to walk through the vineyard. The tasting room is fairly slick, with neon and stainless steel elements, and god help you if you arrive at the same time as a tour group or visitors milling around waiting for a tour.

The shop was packed when we arrived, but cleared out almost immediately so we had a nice experience.

“Great Wine Tour in Nova Scotia”
Reviewed 20 September 2016

We went over to Grand Pre from the "other side" of N.S. to do this tour and than have dinner at their dining room Le Caveau (see write up under Le Caveau).
The vineyard is lovely and the retail shop to taste and buy wines was most enjoyable. We tried several tastings, and enjoyed most of them.
Guided or self tours.
