After two Nova Scotia trips and 25 nights, this is the best of 7 cottages rented in terms of setting (scenic, quiet, private, right on the water), quality of cottage (open concept, modern, well equipped) and owners care (called to ensure no problems, allowed use of well stocked spices, some dry/canned foods, well maintained (clean)).
Really clean, quaint but up-to-date 2 bedroom. Can't beat the view over Chedabucto Bay. Rugged countryside and pretty remote. Not where you want to go for action unless it is to see bald eagles (we saw several) and seals (3 sightings) as you sit in the lovely screened in porch or on the lawn overlooking the bay. Rented sea kayaks in nearby Guysborough (15 minutes away) which was quite fun. Nearest decent-sized town is an hour away (Antigonish). Close to Cape Breton with its beautiful views and scenery too.
Very private, highly recommended for peace and serenity...all you can hear are the waves...
We were there with our two 20-yr-old kids. Had a great time. Not a lot of sound privacy from the loft bedroom upstairs to the living area down but it wasn't an issue for us. Each bedroom has a full ensuite bathroom which is nice. We ate our meals watching the sunset from the screened in porch every night. It's rocky and steep directly down to the ocean from the cottage but you can walk about 100m along a path and easily get to a nice pebble beach. We swam but it is chilly!
Tons of towels/bedding/basic spices etc all there. Very comfortable. We loved it.
