A great place for a relaxed meal in the open courtyard under trees and with live music. Food was very well prepared and enthusastically served. Would go again.

Food is excellent, good portion size for price. Outdoor patio is quaint, indoor is more pub style and dated.

Historic building in the old Ancaster Village. Great ambiance - if you like an old style British pub. We went on a weekday, so didn't encounter heavy crowds. We had a place that was half full. Service was fantastic; regular check-ins without being overbearing. There were a variety of specials. The dishes we chose were standard pub fare - can't attest to the other "non-pub" food. The steak pie was out of this world and in line with what I've had in the UK. The fish and chips was crispy on the outside and light and flaky on the inside. Full bar; prices are reasonable. We split desserts in that they are big enough for 2 people.

So... get a drink, have standard pub fare, enjoy the ambiance - and enjoy!

Such a charming place but in dire need of renovations. Carpet is worn, the uncomfortable chairs need updating, cloth bench seating is dirty, the wooden table tops are sticky and the bathrooms were not clean. Having said that the food was good and the service was friendly. If there is a next time I’ll sit in the patio which is much more appealing than the inside of the restaurant.
