Hidden in a behind an unassuming storefront is a fantastic restaurant that is right up there with the best restaurants in NYC, let alone down town TO.
- The Nigiri Foie Gras was savory, underpinned by succulent pork belly and melded together with a great maple syrup reduction. Every bite an addictive adventure.
- We are still wondering how the braised octopus was made to be so tender, and the pinot and onion sauce was a perfect compliment - added just a little complexity without over-powering the octopus.
- My tablemate ordered the braised short ribs... tender, melt in your mouth, beef with a wonderful risotto that was great for soaking up the sauce from the ribs.
- I had the rack of lamb... again, very tender and flavourful, without being "lamby" in the least. Culinary joy in every bite.
Shhhh... half-way through the meal we swapped plates ;-) .
The atmosphere was quiet, dimmed but not dark and the décor was nice. The service was very attentive, patient and professional. A really nice place without being pretentious.
