Stayed here 10 years ago (then excellent) and was unaware of changes in ownership. Clearly ratings based on past performance that today’s reality does not warrant! Not at all welcoming from the outset. Having reserved and paid for a suite we were mailed, after the fact, a “required” Guest Agreement to complete. Upon arrival, receptionist appeared more concerned about going home than attending to other members of our party who had yet to arrive. Overall, staff little more than polite; certainly not welcoming. Had made a dinner reservation (based on past experience). Big mistake! Ordered a glass of prosecco while waiting that proved so flat and warm it must have been open for days – could not get a bubble out of it. Replaced after complaint with no apology. Degree of dryness of the burger and bun matched only by the inflated price. Definitely an “exceptional” culinary experience but for all the wrong reasons. As for the room; might have passed for a storage facility for random pieces of misplaced furniture. No thought to placement or possible usage. Cheap plastic fittings in bathroom more in keeping with a basic motel aesthetic. (Have never come across such thin toilet paper in such tiny sheets!) So unlike our previous experience that had justified the “charming and authentic” tags. The peeling “Little Inn” sign outside rather reflects the changed environment. No idea if breakfast was an improvement on dinner – it was not...More
