I have noticed this diner next to the busy Dairy Queen on the highway many times and always told myself when we had more time we would stop in to check it out. Last week was just that time.

Service was extremely friendly and attentive. They have many specials up in the board to look at and consider.

Food was homemade and outstanding! Take a look at the photos! My only regret was not trying the pie ! We had perogies and the special bacon cheeseburger and fries as well as a club sandwich with real pieces of chicken and soup. The soup was outstanding. I am wondering if they sell it in larger quantities!

Definitely worth stopping in! You won't be disappointed.

This modest looking diner is a stand out place to eat in the waste land of fast food chains along Highway 7 through Perth. An interesting menu, well executed and tasty. Will certainly be back to sample more.

We were passing through Perth around lunch time, and decided to stop at The Hungry 7 for a late lunch.

We walked in around 14:00, and the place was full. We asked for a table, and were told it would be about a 15-minute wait. Since we were encouraged by the daily specials and regular menu (and the fact that it was busy), we left our name and decided to wait outside. While we were waiting, 2 more groups came and left their names for tables.

We ordered the hot chicken sandwich and the perogies. I loved the hot sandwich; it was made with a thick chicken gravy and tasted delicious. The French fries were very good, nice and crispy. The perogies looked great, definitely home-made, and were very filling.

We didn't have dessert, but noticed that many tables were ordering whole pies to take home. The pie menu looked great, and I'll definitely consider ordering some to go next time we stop in.

first visit shortly after they first opened.the food was standard diner fair. nothing special. was not impressed by the poutine that had cheddar on it then then tried to tell me there was an extra charge if i wanted curds. i am sorry but a poutine uses curds. prices were too high for extras. Burgers were good but the service was very poor. waitress was uninvolved and ignored us. I might give it another try if it stays open. it might have just been a bad night.

I followed the advice on this page and ignored the tacky exterior and austere interior and focused on the food. Everything was great. No, really. Great. Way beyond any of our expectations for what was basically described as a diner. Perogies were really made by a person, the sandwiches delicious and the house salad dressing was extraordinary. The service was fine; everything we'd hoped for. We only wish we didn't live two hours away or we'd be back sooner.
