our intro was their web listing which was out of date . it said the room was on the second floor with a view but she explained when i called that they had forgotten to change the listing after their reno. i was tired and had few options, so we booked anyway. our room was nice, but faced the parking lot with no glimpse of any island or shores. watch out you don't stay on the north side of building, either, as the blessed train runs throigh the north part of the village. (if you are camping, the train sound at rainbow falls prov. park is really quite silly: go up north to see nature and listen to the freight trains and transport trucks!!) after arrival, the tired and half listenng travellers were then told to make the second floor their home as it was a "common area" but we discovered that the kitchen was not, when we started washing up our utensils from our take out meal. my husband calmed and charmed her while i shrunk out of the open concept common area that was not a common use area as we had learned. not very relaxing.
in the a.m., since the voyageur room is right under the kitchen, we were awakened at 6:40 a.m. to footsteps on and on and on above us as the other couiple"s meal was being prepared. too bad, we'd wanted to sleep in til just before our 8 a.m. meal...it was a rainy day but oh well. now they know about their creaky floors and heavy footsteps/heels!
i must say that both breakfasts were very fine: tasty, filling and prepared with care. also our hosts were very very helpful about finding us sights to see: it was too windy to kayak both days even if we could have reached the kayak guy but our hosts suggested some lovely local (northern) beaches and hikes and where to get really good italian food at a local gas station(!) (the serendipity cafe in contrast was a bit drippy...slow and ho hum typical food).
some nice touches in the B&B room and bathroom was very nice but they should not claim (as they did to us) to be "clean freaks". they were very genial company at breakfast time.
