Great place to visit.

Beautiful sandy beach. Amazing views with lots of sand and clean water.

No shaded areas to sit. Bring your own umbrellas, and don’t forget your sunglasses!

Has showers on boardwalk to rinse off.

Has ice cream shop on boardwalk.

Can get busy.

this was a lovely wide and long beach with red dunes. Damage from the last hurricane was evident. it was very windy and cool that day with crashing waves so we admired it from the look out. this beach deserves a visit for sure ! we went especially as it was featured on Road to Avonlea

Prior to heading to PEI, I heard this was the best beach in PEI. It was a nice beach with water and dunes, but due to my high expectations, I was disappointed. Plenty of parking was available with two lots. I went at the end of April, so there was only about 5 cars in the whole lot.

Cavendish Beach had beautiful red cliffs and red sand. I went to the beach in November, and it was very windy and cold, so I would caution visitors who come to this beach in the colder months to dress appropriately. The water was very rough and chilly, but it was great to take a stroll on this beach. I walked down some stairs from the boardwalk to reach this beach. I also walked around a path by the nearby sand dunes. It was interesting to walk within the adjacent woods of this beach. There was a parking lot, and there were bathrooms and shower facilities for the warmer months.
