“Exceed expectations!”

Alice and Roger, owners of this centrally located B&B in Carleton-sur-Mer, in the Gaspe Peninsula are the ultimate in hospitality, warmth and graciousness. We had a room with an ensuite and a view of the Bay. Can't ask for anything more. We were made to feel very welcomed and we were provided lots of info regarding what to do, where to go and dining choices in the area. Armed with that, we had a fabulous dining experience in this resto-bistro called DES Bouts D'Ligne in the town of Maria, about 10 kms away. We thoroughly enjoyed our Gaspesian culinary delights in this bistro run by Suzanne and Alain. The sugar pie was divine! Roger also mentioned about events happening during the winter season. Snowshoeing, skiing.........etc. We are thinking of going back and participating in the winter activities. The B&B was very clean and inviting. Backs onto the bay and lots of trails for biking and walking. We drove up to Mt. St. Joseph, worth the admission fee of $5:50 each to check out the panoramic views of the town and the surrounding area and neighboring New Brunswick. We were very delighted to get a room with an ensuite, hard to come by the the Gaspe region. There was also wi-fi and a TV in the bedroom. All in all we had a great stay with Alice and Roger, will definitely go back there for another visit and stay at the La Mer La Montagne again. Breakfasts choices were fantastic. We would recommend this B&B to anyone.

We arrvied to Gite La Mer La Montagne after a long day at Forillon National Park and a long drive. We found a lovely B&B with kind hosts that made us feel at home.
Alice and Roger's house is clean and warm. The room are small but beautifully decorated. Our room (#2) features two beds, a chair and a well equipped bathroom. The hearty breakfast is prepared on the spot and is eaten on a table shared by all the guests of the B&B. We enjoyed both the food and the conversation with the other guests.
Parking and Wi-Fi are free for all guests.
If we're ever in the area again, we will surely stay at the Gite la Mer la Montagne.

What a sweet retreat we found at this B&B. The innkeepers were so warm and friendly; we felt right at home. Our room was impeccably clean with private bath. The bed afforded us a wonderful night of rest. And the breakfast, where shall I begin!!! First the large window in the dining room looks out directly on the water. That would have been almost enough, along with the great coffee (they even offered espresso!) to make our morning perfect. But then came the food, served so beautifully. Delicious! Generous portions. Free parking just outside. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. I hope we can return one day.
