We’d really love to be giving this auberge an absolutely top rating. In fact, we feel bad not doing so because it’s so near to being perfect – but unfortunately there’s one big drawback.
First the good stuff. The rooms here are beautifully presented and the staff lovely and helpful. The breakfast room at the front of the hotel has a great view of the ocean with lots of light and a deck for good weather. The bar behind the breakfast room is cosy with lots of atmosphere and another deck. Breakfast is top quality with an excellent selection, amply provisioned. The hotel is also being extended and many rooms have their own seating areas, many protected from the winter weather.
Now the bad bit. The hotel is in an old building with plenty of creaking floors. There are hard floors for allergy and hygiene reasons. Despite the notes posted by management in each room requesting shoes off and consideration for your neighbours, you are effectively at the mercy of other occupants. At times it seemed we had a herd of elephants stomping about upstairs. If your neighbours show consideration as requested by walking quietly, or you have no one above you, you’re in for a good stay. If not, it can be pretty wearing. Without the herd upstairs, this would have been a flawless, relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Choose a top floor room or bring earplugs

The hotel is beautiful and clean. It is well decorated and each room is a suite. There was a couch and a small table in our room. It is currently being renovated to add enclosed outdoor sitting areas.
My only complaint is the walls are very thin.

The mansion was under refurbishment, so we thought: Oh my...! We were relieved and happy when we saw our cozy private apartment under the roof: two double beds, a perfectly equipped little kitchen, a dining and a living room witha view!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet ok. You could even have it on the terrace.
A very pleasant stay on the way to the National Parc!

One of the rare auberge in the area where dogs are allowed! Our room for 4 was big enough and absolutely spotless. It was in the new wing, so missing out on the old building charm, but nicely decorated. In this wing, the rooms open onto a covered veranda shared by the guest of this wing. That means that your room window opens onto that veranda and not on the outside.
Sink was outside of the bathroom. It will look better once the renovations are over. On the plus side, we had no noise whatsoever from work being done. Buffet breakfast is very nice, fresh and varied with hardboiled eggs, fresh fruits, homemade bread, cereals, bagels, etc.

Room Tip: I would prefer a room in the old wing to be able to open a window directly outdoors.

What an incredible place. The hosts were very helpful, the hotel room was perfect for 5 and the breakfast amazing. Especially over the view and the old sewing machine turned into a lavabo stand. And the shower... Rain rain :) Perfect with children.

Room Tip: Ask for the bedroom #2
