We arrived at Patzcuaro on June 7, 2013 without a hotel reservation. It was the slow season and there are plenty of hotels, many not listed on the internet. We checked several hotels and posadas from 300 to 500 pesos a night. At 300 pesos it is often a bit poor quality, at 500 pesos you get a nice room in a good place. We settled for Hotel Mission San Manuel at 413 pesos a night for two, taxes included. The building is a very nice colonial style restored in the 1950's and has a nice restaurant. Our room was #209 at the back of the building and was extremely quiet even during the weekend. Hotel and restaurant staff is extremely kind and friendly, the restaurant has a good daily menu for 70 pesos. There is Wifi in most of the building including the restaurant but not at the back of the building where our room was, which was not a problem for us. Cell phone connection did not work in our room either but did in the hallway just twenty feet away. The room was nice, very clean, the bathroom was large and a bit rustic. No water problem. Location of this hotel is perfect, right in the portales of the Plaza Vasco De Quiroga (Zócalo) We recommend this hotel and beautiful Patzcuaro.
