The hotel was one of the best on our 15 day trip to Mexico. We stayed four nights. Beautiful, peaceful view, wonderfully decorated in and out. Took many pictures of hotel furnishings and of course, the view of the lake, fog, etc. Sam the manager and Tim an American living in house across the lane were too kind and helpful to be adequately described. Reasonable walk into town. Coffee and maker in room for early coffee. Easy parking out front. Comfortable beds. More than adequate bottled water. Continental breakfast included, but full add-on breakfast offered for a reasonable price. If a person wants to enjoy real Mexico, Patzcuaro is the place to go.

A retreat to nature. Amazing view of the lake. Located on a mountain but close to town (taxi is safest due to traffic on the way to town). Safe and relaxing environment. 30 minute hike to El Estribo. Worth the trip!

Excellent place for to take rest. We spent there last day of year and then few more nights. There were a night dinner option in restaurant with great viewed. Some of the others visitants were making barbecue outside. Both options are excellent when you can have your small dog with you and in the midnight enjoy good firework.
I recommended to take one of the small cabins with kitchen and view.

Excellent breakfast we asked serve outside in garden, so we could enjoy them during the reading a book and have in front amazing view to the lake.

Walking distance to city center allowed us enjoy maximum our stay.

Definitely will come back again.

We loved our 3-night stay at Ixhi. Staff were wonderful, the cabins are comfortable, views are stunning and we enjoyed hiking up the wooded hills above the hotel.
Patzcuaro is a lovely "Pueblo Magico" (literally Magic Village) with a compact historic center based around a charming square complete with lovely old-growth trees and colonial architecture. It was about a 25min walk from the hotel into the center of the village, pretty much all downhill. Coming back up is harder work or simply jump in a taxi.
The rooms are spacious and each seem to have a color-theme. We had a red and our travel companions blue. They have a small kitchen which we did not use, but it was nice to have room to spread out and we did take advantage of being able to snack and drink some wine at our dining room table a couple of times. Due to the elevation (around 2,200m / 7,200ft ) the weather is lovely, dry and cool in the evening and early morning but nice and warm by day. During our May visit the atmosphere was very hazy... it actually looks like smog but with no large cities around is more likely to be dust, heat and also probably some smoke from farmers who are clearing their land for the next growing season. However, the manager showed us photos of the views once the rains have come in June) and the landscape is transformed into a green paradise and the air clears to afford wonderful views across the lake and to the sierra beyond.
Breakfast was included and is served in a dining area with floor to ceiling windows with commanding views. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. One evening after a full day of traveling and site seeing we wanted to dine in and they organized take out to be delivered to our room.
A real bonus was seeing lots of colorful birds in the gardens and trees of the grounds.

Room Tip: Pretty much all the rooms seem to have great views

A place to have a very quiet time for resting. Very nice cabin style rooms with hotel-type amenities, open spaces for walking or just sit and watch an incredible view of Janitzio and Pátzcuaro Lake. Mexican style breakfast at their restaurant.

Room Tip: Our room has a window to the street, but the town is so quiet that it doesn´t matter.
