Let me get the one thing we didn't love out of the way. The beach in front of the villa is really rocky, and HARD to walk on, although people do it regularly. It was difficult for me to get in the water, but some used the kayaks, and had no trouble. None of us really swam in the water, because the surf is rough and the water choppy.
Other than that, everything else is unbelievably wonderful. The descriptions of the home are 100% accurate. The fit and finish of the villa, are as good as you can get. The home is filled with granite, marble and mahogany. The furniture in the home, and outside are top quality, as are the linens. Our cook and maintenance man, Pedro, prepared excellent chef quality meals, so good that we were not the least bit interested in going off property to dine. Not only was the food delicious, but it also was beautifully presented. Either you can pay for Pedro to go to the store, or you can shop yourself in Tulum or Puerto Aventuras, after talking with him about menus. Look forward to fresh squeezed orange juice every morning. He also kept the pool and grounds immaculate.
Margarita, the housekeeper, is wonderful, and keeps everything perfectly clean. She will also do a load of washing and drying for $5.
It is so delightful to sit on your balcony or on the porch, and hear the surf, with absolutely no responsibilities. Total relaxation. This property is not at all like being at a resort, where there are constant activities. It is made for people who enjoy being surrounded by beauty, and who can entertain themselves with the beauty of nature, swimming in the pool, exploring the area, or just reading, and being with friends and/or family. We hope to be able to return in the spring.
