Actually stayed there last in April, 2016 and am finally writing a review. Love Palladium resorts, and keep returning. The location of the resort is perfect! Great beach onsite, close to Tulum, Akumal, and Playa del Carmen for touring. The staff makes the Grand Palladium the amazing hotel that we love and continue to go back to. Everyone always greets us with a friendly smile. The beach is long and wide with areas for snorkeling and swimming. Sea kayaks are available and a lot of fun. The spa at the resort is gorgeous! Definitely stop by - it's so beautiful and peaceful. The entertainment is varied and fun - something for everyone. The food is quite good and there are tons of options available.
Planning to return one day soon! Thank you Palladium!

Room Tip: top floor in building 50 or 51 if you prefer to be close to the beach

For the most part, very friendly staff. Extremely clean resort.
The Mexican restaurant and Japanese restaurant was excellent. Buffets were very mediocre.
Every time we were sat for the breakfast buffet we were sat by the kitchen doors in the front. By day 3 we asked not to be sat there only to be sat by the kitchen doors on the other side.
Those that speak Spanish seemed to be given more priority than others. Certain people would be served drinks ahead of others even though you were at the bar for several minutes before that person (yes we were even decent tippers.)
Front desk, drivers and some wait staff were excellent. Diego at the lobby bar was awesome. Same with Tulio from The Mexican restaurant.
We had a Myian suite which was nice. Only problem was the smell of sewage when your room was closed up which came from the toilet.
Drinks seem to be watered down but not awful. They will try to get you to warm up with shots of tequila before feeding you the watered down stuff.
Beautiful clean beach, mosquitos are absolutely awful. Bring bug spray from home. The 6 ounce bottle of stuff you buy at the gift shop for $8.00 USD does not work at all. They will not give you USD change when you try to change out larger bills even though they have it, so if you tip bring plenty of singles from home or be prepared to tip with pesos.

We went last October with my five year old, my husband and my inlaws. We had a great time. The resort is kept immaculatley well kept, the staff are always friendly and helpful. One of our favorite things at this resort was the food. The buffets have enough food to satisfy the pickiest eaters. The a la cartes were also good although the Japanese was closed when we went for renovations.

We loved the fact that the hotel jungle wasn't cut down just for the sake of it. Yes there is more wildlife around but we loved it. They are very conscious of their environmental impact. Makes for a much more authentic feel.

We had fun at the pool and the beach. My son loved watching for the turtles but they never hatched while we were there. My husband and I have been to Mexico 7 times and every time we go to a different resort. But we are going again to the Kantenah resort on September 21st and this time we are bringing even more family with us. This will be the first time we have ever gone back to the same resort and it will be twice in the same year. Less than ten days to go and we can't wait!

We stayed for 2 weeks at the Grand Palladium Riviera Resort and Spa in a Mayan Suite on the Kantenah side of the resort.
This was our second visit to the hotel, the first being during Christmas 2011/12
There has been several improvements to the hotel and restaurants since our last visit which were very nice.

The on going renovations to the Royal and Rivera sections were fairly unobtrusive with only the occasional noise being heard around the White Sands pool.
However, it was a shame that we could not enjoy the salt water pool.

We received a complementary upgrade from our Junior Suite to a Mayan Suite in Block 34 for our 22nd wedding anniversary which was right on the beach. Thank you so much, this was real treat.

We visited most of the A la Carte restaurants, reservation were not required as we tended to arrive around 8.00pm before the 8.30pm rush.
In most cases the food was good, however it was served lukewarm on cold plates which detracted from the dining experience.
The buffet restaurants have a vast selection of foods to suit most tastes but again the food warming plates were not at a high enough temperature resulting in lukewarm food.

The public areas and gardens are kept immaculate by a small army of very attentive employees.
The beach is mechanically cleaned each morning, but should really be re done in the afternoon if the seaweed builds up.

Our Mayan Suite was comfortable, with an outdoor shower. The mini bar refilling service was a bit hit and miss, having to call housekeeping on one occasion when it was not refilled for 2 days.
Luis, who cleaned our room was very efficient and friendly, leaving us various towel art decorations for us to look forward to upon our return to the room.
The Suite itself is getting a bit worn and could do with a refurbishment to bring it back up to scratch – especially the air-conditioning system which is quite loud and difficult to adjust the fan speed.

We spent most of our days on the beach, enjoying the wonderful views and on shore breezes.
There are several areas where you can enter the water and avoid the small pebbles.
The water is clear and cooling with some fish to see whilst snorkelling.
We tended to prefer the beach instead of the pools as the background music playing by the pool was too loud and not to our taste.

We found the staff to be friendly and engaging, one special thank you to Fernanda Marifer who made our stay even more enjoyable.
Overall we had a wonderful 2 week holiday, even though we had nearly 4 days of rain, only leaving the property once to visit a local attraction. We loved just walking around seeing the variety of wildlife and flowers.
Thank you Palladium RM.

Room Tip: Mayan suite in block 34 (3404) is ground floor, sea facing
