If the lifestyle of the Swiss Family Robinson seems appealling, this place is for you! Imagine their treehouse, upgraded to about 2000 square feet, with a natural pool and a modern kitchen (coffee maker, can't live without that!). Howler monkeys and toucans? Yes!
Be aware that the price is dependent more on the number of guests than most offerings. Four people cost twice the listed price. Somehow, while going back and forth about available dates with the listing agent on my mobile, the ap reverted to 2 guests instead of six. The hosts were surprised by the extra people, and I was surprised by the extra cost. Everyone was very nice about the mis-understanding. Just be vigilant that you have selected the correct number of guests when booking, especially if you make any date changes.
This was my favorite part of our trip. I wish we could have stayed longer.
If you are done with all-inclusives and want to try something really different and chill, this place is a complete gem!
You get your OWN CENOTE. Imagine it, it's real, no compromises. Swim in the morning, bathe in the evening, you will hear the sounds of beautiful birds and gentle breezes as they rustle through the jungle.
We thought it might be hot at night. Wrong. It is perfect, about 72 with the breezes for us. Perfect, plus there is a nice ceiling fan in the screened in bedroom.
Plenty of places to read and chill for long restful days. The surroundings have been artfully sculpted in an organic but creative way. Pathways and colorful touches in every detail. Lighting is beautiful and highlights paths and the cenote at night.
Stuff to know:
The kitchen is basic. Oven didn't work but the microwave did . Prepare by having a car to visit the Akumal restaurants (like 2 minutes away) or bring stuff you can grill, pan fry, toast or microwave. There is a refrigerator in a locked room where you can keep your secure belongings as well. Everything else is open air like it should be.
You will be embarrassingly rich in privacy, quiet, peace, and reading time. Surprisingly the Wi-Fi here is better than many condos in Akumal. I had great access all over the property!
There are actually 2 cenotes. You will freak out when you discover the 2nd one which is so private and tucked away after a walk in the jungle.
That's all I'm going to say. I love this place, just booked 2nd year in a row. I really don't want this place to get over crowded so you will have to read between the lines on the rest.
If it sounds good, rest assured it is. We do 3 days here then move to more beach centered places so I can marvel in life at La Buena Vida.
