If you are looking for a big dive shop with big boats and big crowds this is not the shop for you. If you are looking for big fun then this is your place.

We stumbled on this shop back in 2010 after diving with another shop during the week and decided to add an unscheduled dive to our itinerary. We were so impressed that we have made this our "go to" shop whenever we are in the area. They use small boats so therefore there are no crowds. Every dive-master\dive-guide has been excellent. Damian Sansoni was especially impressive on our most recent trip as was Manuel Garcia on our 2015 cenote trips. Both are well traveled individuals with compelling stories to tell that have nothing to do with water.

One owner (Marcos Fernandez) may be about half crazy but is impossible not to like and intent on making sure everyone is having a great time. The other owner, (Mindi Hill) we unfortunately have only had the opportunity to correspond with via email but is extremely helpful, apparently equally fun loving and intent on making sure even special requests are handled with the utmost attention to detail.

On our most recent trip we spent three days diving with this shop after spending three days diving in Cozumel. As far as the dive sites, they are not Cozumel but both the local reefs and cenotes are beautiful in their own right and well worth the time and effort required to add to your plans.

Having done multiple dives with this shop both in the cenotes and in the ocean we highly recommend them to divers of all skill levels who are looking for a relaxed, fun diving experience in this area.

I just returned from my trip to the Riviera Maya, and would like to share my experience with Bahia Divers to other divers who are looking for a trustworthy and safe dive center at a good price (nothing compared to the exorbitant price at my hotel). I did two ocean dives with Bahia Divers and enjoyed it. Special shout out to my dive master Lionel, as well to Rafa who helped me with the transportation logistics. Leo carefully explained the dive sites (in 3 languages) and what to watch out and expect. I had a wonderful dive experience with Leo, thank you! All the equipment is in great condition as well.

I will definitely return to this dive center and will bring my family, certainly I would recommend this place to others divers.

Bahia Divers were excellent, pick up from hotel was on time, facilities were good, jumped in the boat off the beach and a short 10 min boat ride on the Akumal and we were in the water. Went to the Pelicano wreck, a 70ft Fishing vessel, for first dive, which Bahia claim to have discovered. Bad weather closed down the second days diving on the akumal so we went to Chikin Ha Cenote instead. there are always options!

Our regular dive operator in Cozumel, Dive with Martin, chose this company for our day of Cenote Diving. Our dive guide for the day, Pascual, met us at the Playa del Carmen Ferry and escorted us for our wonderful adventure of cenote diving. He took care of everything with a trip to their oceanfront dive operation in Xpu-ha...wet suits, dive gear (if you need it), lights, and transportation. On our drive to the Cenote he gave us a thorough orientation, explaining to us the evolution of the formation of the cenotes (ice age flooding of caves), instructed us thoroughly in the mechanics of Cenote diving (better have good buoyancy and no fear of the dark), and led our small group (3 of us) on a thrilling trip into two underwater caves (Kulkulcan and Chac-Mool). A delicious Burrito lunch followed. Plan on a day that goes from 8am to 2.30 pm from Playa del Carmen.

We were referred by Dive with Martin in Cozumel, where we were staying. We wanted to see the Cenotes so they set up a tour with Bahia Divers. They met us at the ferry, drove us to the preparation area, and then drove us to the entry site. The pre-dive orientation was excellent. Pasqual took the time to review all the gear we brought with us, double checked everything, and gave us 2 dives we will never forget. The history was fascinating and you can truly tell these guys care about their lands and ocean. Thank you for a great time. We will let Dive with Martin know how great you treated us!
