Description: We are situated in the heart of the picturesque Buckinghamshire village of Taplow, close to the historic river Thames, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Whether you are just dropping in for a quick drink or are planning to have a meal, you can always expect a warm and friendly welcome and a place where you can relax and get away from the stresses and strains of daily life. Our extensive menus cover everything from a quick snack to three course meals. We also have a good selection of fine wines from which you can choose to complement your meal. In the summer months, you can, if you wish, eat alfresco on our lovely patio or in the garden. There are many places of historical interest nearby, including Cliveden House, former home of Lord and Lady Astor, which was infamously associated with the 'Profumo Affair'. Also of interest is St Nicholas church, which is in the village itself.

Living not too far away we try to try a new pub for a date night dinner each week. I am delighted this was my choice as everything from the fun bar staff, friendly locals and fabulous food made it a success. I opted for specials a duck dish followed by ham hock and pea salad. My other half had the most amazing looking burger. We will be back to try some more dishes.

A lovely pub, appreciated by the locals. Beer is from the Marlow brewery and very good quality. The menu has the usual fare of burgers, fish, steaks etc. The pie and mash looked good, but the fish and chips was better if a bit too expensive at around £13.
A nice location with good service.

I booked a table for a large group, all of whom were very happy with the location and the food. We had a variety of meals from the menu, including the Sunday roasts and one of the veggie options. The garden provided a nice shady space after our meal, to sit and swop birthday presents. On the website I think that there's only a picture of the terraced area immediately outside the pub entrance, but there's also a nice grassed area with benches and tables; good for a summer's day if we get any more of those! Friendly staff, good service. Good beer, too. The pub is in a quiet location well away from traffic and the busy riverside.

We'd been to Cliveden, the National Trust property and wanted somewhere for lunch. The Oak & Saw is the the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, so we headed there.
It's a delightful place! It's not that large inside and has a small patio area and small garden area. The car park is pretty small too.
The servings however are far from small and more than adequately satisfied us. The Rebellion beer too went down well.
We will remember to schedule a visit here next time we visit Cliveden.
