My wife and I stayed here for a 3 day break recently . We splashed out on a suite which was superb , large bedroom and separate lounge area very spacious and airy. Large Bathroom with separate walk in shower and standalone " claw foot " bath gave an unique twist. The building and grounds are fantastic sitting in acres of quiet countryside.Overall the location is great but you need a car it's a 10 minute drive into Nantwich which is quaint and has lovely walks .Easy reach of Chester also.We had afternoon tea on arrival which was lovely , traditional and good quality if a little pricey. 21.50 per head for tea , scones and cakes ! If you add a glass of bubbly it's over 40 pounds a head so be warned .Spa was outstanding , large swimming pool, the largest hydrotherapy pool I have seen (a large jacussi really ) , sauna and steamroom . We each had a spa treatment which was great and very good value compared to some of these we have experienced in other hotels. We stayed on a dinner ,B and B basis so ate in the Hotel all 3 nights. The quality was very good for both dinner and breakfast but service was a little slow at busy times , it seemed to take an age to get even a cup of tea in morning. There are 2 different menu choices for dinner but the A-la-carte is a bit too specialised for our taste, however the standard dinner menu was still excellent with a good variety. One warning though wine-by-the -glass prices are top end ( minimum £ 10 pounds for 250 Ml ). All in all we loved our stay and would return but just lacks some of those subtle finishing touches to enable me to rate as excellent for a hotel in this price bracket.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a suite , it was fantastic and well worth the extra for a special occaision.

Lovely room, great place, really enjoyed it the break.
Food was really good at dinner and breakfast unfortunately let down by the service at both, not the staff working there, they were good and attentive, just wasn’t enough of them for the number of customers at at the prices charged the manager should take responsibility as it really wasn’t good enough.

We returned to Rookery Hall to celebrate my birthday after a perfect stay here some ten years ago.
We arrived early to use the spa and it was excellent. The facilities, the staff and the treatments were exceptional. Special mention to the small ginger haired girl who never stopped all day, trying to keep guests happy.
Onto the hotel and we had a one night stay in the newer building which is well designed but lacks the character you associate with Rookery Hall. The last time we stayed here a deluxe room was a four poster bed in a large old fashioned room. This time it was two single beds pushed together. There was also damage to the mirror and dressing table. We looked forward to using the bath which had a built in TV however there wasn't any hot water available on the Monday morning.
We had dinner in the restaurant and chose from the Market Menu at 7:30pm. My wife and I both ordered the beef, only to be told there was only one portion left, so I ordered the lamb. The starters were excellent but when the mains arrived we had two lamb dishes. My wife sent hers back to the kitchen but the waiter soon returned with the lamb dish and told us 'chef said there's no more beef so do you want this lamb instead'. Dessert was also excellent although we were a bit puzzled having both ordered the same thing (chocolate orange mousse) why one had sorbet and the other didn't??
A couple of other points - breakfast in bed was excellent, as was the view from our room. Some of the waiters during dinner came across as being arrogant and rude, particularly an older gentleman who nearly fell to the floor when I tried to order a drink. Other people in the restaurant had complained about some of their food.
Some of our issues do seem petty, but we expected so much from this place and when you pay such high rates (and £10 for a glass of wine) it's reasonable to demand perfection.
Unfortunately we won't be returning to Rookery Hall ☹️

We brought our friends here for their Silver Anniversary treat!
Booked Afternoon tea , Dinner, Bed and Breakfast.
Afternoon Tea was okay, nothing special. The Ham was excellent but the rest were average sandwiches! We expected fresh cakes but got a Very Average selection.
Dinner was Superb! Excellent Service, with a Smile! Although The White Wine Selection needs to be revised!
Breakfast was a Great Disappointment.
They didn’t have any whole meal or brown bread.
When the White Toast appeared, after 20 minutes and 2 reminders, it was Cold. We complained and reordered it, it still came Cold the second time ! We gave up and ordered Porridge with milk. It was the Worst Watery Porridge We have ever Had.
The Full English Breakfast was again served Cold on a Hot Plate. Even the poached eggs were cold! It all seemed like it had been precooked and reheated.
All in All the Worst Breakfast we’ve ever had ! Even Premier Inns Serve better Breakfast on their Buffets!
Over the last 30 years We have been here to Rookery Hall many times , but this will be the last time! Especially as we were treating our Friends on their Very Special Day!

Rookery Hall hotel is set in very quiet, secluded and tranquil surrounds. The hotel is quite a majestic mid/early 1800’s building, with ample parking and adjoining Spa and gym in a separate new build building. Whilst we did not use the Spa the gym has good facilities with pleasant pool and steam room. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable with excellent views over the grounds and surrounding countryside. All the staff we had contact with were very pleasant and helpful, right from the reception, gym and restaurant waiting staff. We eat both dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Whilst we can thoroughly recommend the breakfast we did have a few issues with dinner which did not quite equate to expectations of an AA two star rating. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would recommend and return.

Very nice afternoon good food, staff very pleasant, welcoming ambiance . Location stunning from the restaurant window. Easy to find & good access. The only problem was limited parking due to a wedding unless there was another area we couldn’t find.
