The decor is perhaps a little old fashioned, but I really like this place. The staff are always helpful (I don't think I've once had to wrangle the toddler and the tray to a table, someone always offers to carry the tray) and the food is old school fare but of a high quality and very fresh. They have lots of homemade sandwiches and hot food you can order. The welsh rarebit is very good, and the children's choices are good- not chips with everything but some proper food! Also, lots of high chairs and exemplary baby change facilities, so full marks there.

A family run restaurant. Has set very high standards in service and has managed to survive in it's old fashioned settings. Absolute perfect food and well worth a visit. Served a perfect afternoon tea.

Visited with a couple of older friends and as it must be 12/13 years since I last visited, I was quite surprised as it looked just the same, except for the salad bar. Nice friendly staff and a decent snack of welsh rarebit with a cold drink. There's plenty to choose from and the restaurant was clean. although the location within the shop is on the top floor, there is a lift, so don't worry if you are with older people as its not too difficult to get to

Just popped in for a coffee after buying some shoes in the sale. The scone which must admit wasn't planned but too tempting to resist. It was still warm with thick butter and a super coffee. If you are in Northwich Bratts is a must.
