Having done most of the long distance walks in Britain you can imagine the diversity of the B&Bs we have stayed in over many years.

This is THE best I've ever stayed in by far. We have a separate annexe with full size bath and powerful shower. The TV is a good quality flat screen with Freesat. The decor is high quality and towels etc superbly fluffy.

The highlight is breakfast in the conservatory. Cereals, real coffee, fruit juices, crumpets, fresh fruit, and the list goes on! Best breakfast ever ( apart from Jebel Ali hotel in Dubai lol)

Sue and Jim are attentive but stay in the background but nothing is too much trouble.

There is a secluded outdoor patio area for the 2 annexe rooms with chairs and tables. We got an Indian takeaway from the Victoria Spice restaurant and brought it back to have a meal outside as the weather was superb.

This should be a must place to stay if you are visiting or passing through Alston. 5*

We recieved a lovely warm welcome as soon as we arrived at Garden House. Nothing was too much trouble for Sue. The room was perfect, spotlessly clean with a lovely comfy bed. Good shower & plenty of hot drinks. Secure storage for our bikes as we were cycling C2C. Fortunately the weather was good enough to allow us to sit outside on the private patio. Delicious continental breakfast, lots of choice & lovely fresh fruit. We will be back!

Lovely room, very modern and clean, full size bath and good shower. Very good choice and quality of continental breakfast, parking, close to town centre, very friendly owners, outside area to sit. Extremely quiet location. Very definite recommendation.
