Stayed here for one night recently as a part of a birthday gift weekend in the lakes.
We phoned in the week to ask if we could arrive early to use the pool facilities before heading in to bowness for the day on the bus. We were welcome to use the pool early which was great.
The pool is perfect for a little swim and there is also a jacuzzi and steam room which all worked well. As a note the steam room could do with a good scrub of the tiles and grouting.
The changing rooms have towels, hair dryer, toiletries, toilet.
There is a mini gym by the pool but we didnt use it.
The bus to bowness picks up and drops off right outside the hotel which was ideal if a little expensive.
Upon return later on we were promptly checked in and shown to our room, staff were all friendly but some more so than others.
Room was on the ground floor but the 'view ' aspect of the room details is a bit tenuous but was ok.
Wifey spotted a stain on the netcurtains which looked a bit blood-like but otherwise the room was clean and well stocked with tea and coffee and biscuits.
The bed was comfortable and shower hot if a little on the low side as at 6ft i had to duck down to wash hair but i guess that comes with over the bath showers to some extent.
We went for a drink in the bar and had some chips and onion rings for a nibble. All very tasty and bar staff friendly.
Bar was busy but they seemed to cope very well.
Even found some games in the lounge to play in the evening too.
Slept well and breakfast in the morning was a buffet affair so help yourself to the wide choice available.
Cooked options very good though a tad greasy but set us up for the day.
Toaster was the usual hotel style drop it on the moving tray and hope for the best, some came out warmed others came out burnt.
Pastries were hidden under by a napkin on top of the toaster so appeared untouched but we did have a couple.
Staff very good at keeping things replenished though the coffee seemed to run out quicker than they could replenish.
A bit cramped around the food if you happen to catch a rush for food but just time your visit to the counters and you will be ok.
Plenty of parking in front of the hotel but it does fill up quickly.
All in all a pleasant stay.
