Stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. The hotel is a 3 star and has lots of traditional features and furnishings and therefore is a bit on the quirky side. Dark wood panelling and creaky floors all adds to the charm in my opinion. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The spa is very small but a nice added feature. The bar is a nice place to spend an evening and the food was good. Breakfast also had a nice selection. Wifi was a bit patchy and not very strong but that was the only thing that could have been improved.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the lake which are a bit smaller but great view.

Thanks so much for your visit and lovely review! We appreciate the feedback about the wifi and we will get on to the provider to see if there are any issues. We love that you appreciated the charm of the building too, something we have always loved. We do hope you will consider visiting again!

It was a lastt minute booking - staff were friendly people - but found room and furnishings really old fashioned- floors were major creaky - furniture looks like it’s made of coffin wood, dark wood, and old thick curtains made from clearance sale - nice G&T but seriously spooky . x

Thanks for your review. We have a variety of room types, some traditional ones in keeping with the history of the area and building, and some modern ones. We will always give guests the room they prefer so for others reading this, if you prefer a more modern looking room do let us know! For those that enjoy the more traditional room, we have those too. The best of both worlds! Many thanks for allowing us the space to explain that.

We chose to visit the Newby Bridge Hotel for the weekend but unfortunately we had to change our stay to just Sunday night bed and breakfast. I wish it could have been longer. The staff were fantastic. Amylea on reception was amazing and came to my friends aid when he had a flat tyre. She could have just gave him the name of a garage but twice she used her car to inflate the tyre on my friends car. She is a star and just one reason why the Newby Bridge will be our first choice when staying in the area. The food was superb, I had venison which I would recommend to anyone.
A well stocked bar, a real fire and staff that understand the meaning of customer service. FANTASTIC.

Lovely to read your comments, thanks so much for posting them. Our staff don't mind going the extra mile at all for our guests and are only too happy to help sort out the odd flat tyre! Thanks for your comments about our food too; potential guests love reading food recommendations and the venison is always a good choice if it is on the menu! We hope to welcome you back again, thank you :)

We’ve just had four nights at the Newby Bridge Hotel booking only a couple of weeks before we checked in.

For a 3 * hotel this has been an excellent choice - we had a lovely spacious room with a view over the River Leven.

We booked DBB and had a £30 allowance each from the restaurant menu. The food at dinner and breakfast has been of high quality and really well presented. Our Westie came on the trip with us and though he could sit with us in the bar area we couldn’t take him into the restaurant. A table was set up for us in the bar area and we were served there which worked well. There is a £10 nightly charge for the dog.

The staff went out of their way to be welcoming helpful and accommodating. We’d like to mention Marte, Natalya and Rob - though obviously a great team is needed to create such a positive experience.

It’s good location for the South Lakes and provides such great value for money. We will come back.

Best overall experience I ve had in a hotel. Everybody from the reception (Natalia) to our departure was so friendly. The decor is superb. Gardens would not look out of place in the National Trust. Our room was so clean , comfortable and relaxing and provided everything you could need for a stay. Some of the 5* hotels we ve stayed in should come here to study how to run a hotel. We came with our corgi. She loved it and was welcomed like a “minor Royal”. Food first rate and breakfast top notch. I like two things with my breakfast attentive service and a smile. I got both at the Garden Restaurant thanks to Renee and the waiters.
If you re looking for a relaxing break in a home from home hotel book here. You won t be disappointed .

What a lovely review to read and we certainly love that title and 5 star rating. Everyone is so pleased you had such a nice time and your comments about the staffs' hard work has gone down a treat! We do love dogs here so it was a pleasure to meet your lovely Corgi. We hope that you all will make the trip back to us again! Thank you.
