“Great base to explore the Lakes”
Reviewed April 5, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Loved the Coach House, plenty of room for 3 adults, 2 teenagers and a large boisterous labrador. The property was immaculately clean, very well equipped, even down to coffee, tea, sugar, cling film and kitchen roll! Washing machine and dishwasher made life much easier too.

Mary was very welcoming and helpful, pointing out some great places to visit and walk the dog. We can definitely recommend Arnside, Coniston and the walk up Heversham Head for stunning views.

Thank you Mary for a great stay.

“Great Place near The Lakes!”

We recently stayed in The Coach House for 3 nights.
It's a lovely wee place with all the mod cons you'd want in a holiday home (washing machine, dishwasher, microwave etc).
There's a fab (recently renovated) pub only my 5 mins walk & a brilliant kids play area about 50 yards away!
Only down side would be it was far too hot. Even when we turned heating off, it took hours for the cottage to cool down, making it difficult to sleep (especially for a 2 year old!)
All in all, a great place to stay and good value!
Would defo go back!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday in The Coach House, and were able to frequent our lovely newly refurbished pub. I'm sorry the heating was too hot, and wish I could have popped round to sort that out for you. The bedrooms have underfloor heating which can be turned off without affecting the the living areas. You are right though, the underfloor heating is slower cooling down. Each bedroom has it's own thermostat, so the best way to achieve a cool room is to set a low temperature and keep the door shut. We hope you will come back again, and I will ensure that you know how to keep the house at the temperature you like. Glad everything else worked for you. Mary

“A quite house and a kind landlady”

we spent a long weekend in this Heversham house. We were two families, four adults and two young girls. The stay was very pleasant. The house is very comfortable, quiet and well equipped.
We had two cars and it was possible to park them in the courtyard.
The landlady was very kind and helped us solving some our little problems

“The best equipped cottage I have been to!”

We were a group of 5 adults who went to the cottage on the August bank holiday weekend. The driveway with the lovely plants and the steps up to the front door and the dining table on the front porch give the impression that the cottage is very well looked after and space has been utilized well.

Our first impressions were very positive as the cottage was very cute, cosy, and clean. The bedrooms on the ground floor are relatively small, specially the one with the bunk beds is probably only suitable for 1 adult or 2 kids. The bathrooms were spacious and clean, with shampoo and body wash provided.

The kitchen is probably what I was most impressed with. It had EVERYTHING! And all appliances were working! We wouldn't have brought so much stuff with us had we known that there would already be oil/ spices/ kitchen towels and every other essential thing you need for cooking.

Other nice add-ons were dishwasher, washing machine, ironing board, drying rack, portable radiator (which I used to dry my shoes on after falling into a stream!), lots of games, movies, books etc. We didn't get the time to try out the jacuzzi.

Mary was very nice and friendly. We were in touch by text throughout the day of arrival. She welcomed us when we got there and made sure everything was okay and that we were connected to wifi. She had left lots of tea, coffee, biscuit and a bottle of milk for us.

Overall I cannot fault the cottage or the host and we had a nice, comfortable stay.

Liked best: All the essentials were provided
Liked least: People generally tend to not bother with reading information packs, so an in person demo of how to override the default heating settings for example would have been great.
