Enjoy good food surrounded by antiques and bric a bac. There are shelves filled with different salad dressings, oils of all kinds, the choice is bewildering and even if you buy one the temptation is to visit again to buy another.
The proprietors Sam and Jane are equally charming and exrtremely welcoming.
You will not be disappointed, the soups are amazing and great value.
Everything is freshly made. So worth a visit if in town.

As always amazing food. Always greeted by the lovely owners who are both so interesting and make you feel so at home. I will one day have room for cake. Maybe next time I need to opt for sweet rather than savoury. Brought the honey mustard dressing which I adore.

After a wander around Ulverston high street, myself and my other half were looking for a little place to have a bite to eat, we were also looking for antique shops! We were so taken with the little display outside the shoppe that we didn't realise we were stepping into a cafe too! After a look around the shoppe and finding a few items, we sat and had St. Clements, made with amazing homemade lemonade, and a lice of chocolate fudge cake and a gorgeous white chocolate and peanut butter creme brulee. We even came back the next day as Sam, one half of the owners, had brought some old tools that my other half was interested in. Simply a great little gem!

Yet another great meal at this gem of a caffe. The soup is to die for and the brown bread is just mouth watering. Their sandwiches are packed with filling and the sweets they serve are amazing, especially the coffe Crem Brule. The owners Jane and Sam make you very welcome.

On a cold, dreich January day we came upon this most unusual cafe, cum curiosity shoppe. We sat at an old fashioned homely table, and was soon approached by a "Friend of the Earth"-type proprietress in Hamish-like attire. We all opted for the smoked fish chowder at a most reasonable price and was offered glasses of water without our prompting. This was delicious and served with wonderful crusty bread. We wandered round the shoppe to investigate its antique curiosities. The spotless loo was festooned with most-interesting posters and plaques, which were delightfully politically incorrect. The male host and cook, came to engage us in conversion and we conveyed our approval of his chowder. Overall, it was a wonderful trip down memory lane and a most engaging and affordable experience. Long live this real English experience.
