Nice busy pub on Saturday night and I had a lovely gin and tonic although other half’s pint was flat and warm.

We visited on a Saturday evening for a girly meal and drinks, we did book in advance as we know it gets busy,
We dined in the top bar near to the window (to people watch) the pub is warm, inviting and clean,
Staff are friendly and Claire the owner is lovely and couldn’t do more for you,
The food menu is extensive and offers dishes to all pallets. Drinks menu again is really good offers cocktails as well as a normal stocked bar,
Even though it was busy food was quick out and we had a range from paninis to pizzas to fajitas, all of us enjoyed our food and didn’t have any room for dessert as the portions are aplenty,
Overall a lot my evening spent with friends in a buzzing environment.

Okay, here's the issue with The Bridge. It's a nice venue, but a bit bonkers. The restaurant 'proper' to the rear of the property greets you with two life size Egyptian sarcophaguses, plus a baby giraffe tucked away in one corner and various other oddities dotted about. Certainly a talking point.

We ate on a Saturday night and the bistro to the front was packed, but the restaurant was nigh-on empty. As a consequence, our service was quite slow because the bistro seemed to attract most of the staff attention. The food was okay when we finally got it, generous portions and decently cooked. Certainly good value, insofar as there was plenty of it.

Overall, it was okay. We might have been unlucky that evening.

I had hunters chicken which was very good. The bar staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. I was away for the weekend with the Boston ramblers for walking weekend. Thanks very much.
