We stayed on the campsite which we found to be reasonably priced, decent pitch sizes and flat! The amenities are quite basic but clean and perfectly adequate. Washing up water was warm and undercover.
Angie and John were wonderfully welcoming and super helpful even when busy.
The tea shop serves a good selection of delicious cake with low sugar and gluten free options (although you wouldn't know). Fab breakfasts on the weekend too which are really appreciated when you live in a tent.
The site is just a short walk (about 15 mins) down to Carsington Water so really convenient for all those activities. Also, just across the road is a really decent pub which serves good food and has an enormous, pleasant beer garden. On the subject of the road though, should mention that this is quite busy so in the morning it's more likely that you will be woken by road noise rather than the dawn chorus. Nothing dramatic, just worth noting that it's not a site to go to if you want to feel you are lost in the country - it certainly didn't negatively impact our stay though.

We would recommend the campsite to anyone and will definitely consider returning if we choose to camp in the area again.

We stayed just the one night but the welcome we received from Angie and John was wonderful and we were made to feel very at home. Great facilities including shower rooms and good sized toilets. There's even a lovely farm shop to sample the home made puddings and purchase supplies for our night under the stars. Well recommended by us and such a cute place to camp out :)

Room Tip: Pick a pitch which is shaded by the trees and not close to the driveway.

The Pudding Room is a bit tucked away, though the owners are working hard to attract attention with copious signs dotted about nearby. As a previous reviewer has said, it is a bit on the small side but, with the recent sunny weather, that was not a problem as we were able to sit outside. Service is friendly and prompt. The tea is great, but the star of the sahow as far as I was concerned was the lime zing cheescake. Not only a huge slab of it winking at me from the plate, but it tastes divine too. Make sure you do not leave before groaning beneath a chunk. Delicious!

Room Tip: This is not a hotel but a tearoom and campsite. No idae why it falls in the category - presumably the campsite

Been here a few times in last year and am pleased to report the standards still remain high. Called by again today with local bike club riders mid-run and again, no complaints. Lovely home made massive sausage roll. Ridiculously generous cakes and great tea/coffees from Angie C. A pleasant host with a great sense of humour and welcoming manner. Fresh water and for drinks bottles and toilet access means it’s a good place for folks in need of a quick drink/bite and move on. Sorted!
