Description: The Fishermans Rest is now under the ownership of Tim and Laura as of March 2018. We are very pleased to be able to build on the successful business we took over. Welcome to our traditional Derbyshire Country Pub. Perfectly kept Real Ales including many from local breweries, ciders and top quality wines and a large range of gin. Our food is all prepared fresh by landlord Tim who has his own livestock as well as owning the multi award winning Terroir Bistro in Derby. Our menu changes regularly and we can cater for Funeral Wakes, Christenings and Family Parties. The Pub is very 'dog friendly' and boasts a large garden and sun terrace - the sun shines on the property all day and sets on the front of the Pub and the Terrace. Classic pub games on offer - Darts, Dominoes, Table Skittles, Cribbage. Come and see us for a warm Derbyshire welcome.

We had a lovely meal in this friendly pub. The beef was reared by Tim who owns the pub and it was beautifully braised in a rich sauce. The lemon posset and chocolate pot were both to die for too. We will be back and would definitely recommend it. Well done Tim and co! Also no intrusive background music which is refreshing!

Called in for Sunday Lunch only to find that they do not do the traditional version. So tried the Roast Beef Cob with Roast Potatoes and small jug of gravy. It was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed it, will definitely call in again.

Called in for Sunday lunch but the landlord said we do Roast Beef or Pork cobs with roasted potatoes and gravy. We had pedigree and Doombar - perfectly kept and even better on the palette. The cobs and roasties were fab served with very tasty gravy. Well worth a visit.

Some friends were coming to stay at a local campsite and bringing the dog. We were tasked with finding somewhere to eat on a Saturday evening that takes dogs and within walking distance of the campsite. Choice of two pubs really! I rang the Fishermans to see if they did food but they don't on a Saturday evening but was told we could order a takeaway and use their facilities. There is a nice beer garden and when we were ready to eat we went inside and ordered the takeaway. The landlord took delivery, served up the poppadoms and kept the main course warm until we were ready and then served that too! Above and beyond the call of duty! Very accommodating! We had a great night and the dog was made very welcome too! Good service, great selection of drinks and everything we needed at the time!
