The cottage was wonderful, clean and warm (which was important for our rainy April stay!). It is a cosy size, which I think 4 would struggle in (as it is advertised with a sofa bed) but for two it is perfect. The facilities in the cottage are great, the bed is incredibly comfortable and huge! lots of pots and pans, hairdryer etc. and the shower is lovely!
It is across from a very nice (slightly expensive) pub, which does an excellent pint and is a great spot for a decent cider! Bal and James also left us a few gifts for our stay which were much appreciated!
We didn't manage a walk into Hathersage itself ,as the weather was not the best but I think it would take 10-15 minutes for most people, but by car it is 2-3 minutes away and there are a few spots to park up. The cottage is in a great location for walking, we did the kinder mass trespass route (an excellent walk), but there is plenty more in the area.
I would definitely return to Pond view cottage for another stay, it would be a beautiful location in the summer especially, although the rain didn't hamper our experience too much!More
