“Location location location (boring but true!)”
Reviewed January 2, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

What a beautiful spot and a beautiful little cottage. For a 1 bedroom place the living area and kitchen was larger than expected so very pleased as we love to cook. Very clean and comfortable. From your living room window you look down to the Lathkill Valley which was spotted immediately by our spaniel on arrival. We did a fantastic walk to Monyash (14 miles return for us, x 4 for the dog) on the first day and returned to a warm welcome at the Farmyard Inn for dinner, just two minutes walk from the cottage. Do book if you're going though as it fills up very quickly. The Bull's Head another 2 minutes up the road shouldn't be missed for a pint or two. We will return.

We stayed at the lovely cottage for a long weekend and had a fabulous time. The cottage has everything you need for a perfect getaway. The owners were kind enough to allow us to take our 2 well behaved dogs, which was a bonus. The location is perfect for walks, straight from the door so no need to drive. We ate out at the Farmyard Inn a couple of nights - lovely country pub only a few minutes walk away.. We cannot recommend the cottage and its location highly enough and we will definitely return!!

Very enjoyable, great location. Exactly what we needed. Stones throw from lovely riverbank walk and great base to explore from. Don't expect parking at the cottage, you will have to park up the street, but we knew that before we had booked. Also met Susan, the owner, who was absolutely lovely. Cottage was simply lovely.

“Perfect retreat in a beautiful location”
Reviewed October 5, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Overdale is a lovely cottage with a very homely feel. It is well equipped and in a perfect location with lots of super walks from the doorstep. The cottage also has a nice upstairs sun terrace with views across to Bradford Dale, which we were able to enjoy even in October.

“Perfect Peace and Quiet”
Reviewed October 3, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We have just returned from five lovely days in Youlgrave, staying at "Overdale Cottage", a characterful, cared for and well equipped holiday home. Blessed with excellent weather we relaxed on the sitting area over the kitchen roof and soaked up the tranquility of the place and walked down through the valley. The Village is well served by three warm and friendly pubs and is a short drive through stunning countryside to Bakewell, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and Park. We will definitely stay at "Overdale Cottage" again.
The stillness and silence of the evenings was disturbed only by the occasional calling of a nearby owl

Liked best: The Quietness and views.
Liked least: Not a problem for us, but best to aware of the spiral stairs to the upper floor, and steps to the kitchen and roof garden.

“excellant cottage”
Reviewed September 13, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We were very pleased with the lovely accomodation offered at overdale cottage. Like stepping back in time if you want peace tranquility and access to amazing views and walks this is definately the place to go . Do be aware that overdale is on a step path and would probably not be suitable for less mobile.
The facilities in the cottage were perfect everything clean
There are 3 pubs in walking distance but our favourite was the farmyard inn excellant food but its reputation means you have to book even on a monday .
All in all an amazing four days spent walking and enjoying the scenery of the peak district.
My only negative comment would be that probably the roof terrace not so dog friendly we were unable to let our cocjer out there alone for fear of him jumping over the low wall but there is a lovely river just a few steps from the cottage so wasnt too much of a probkem.
I wouldnt hesitate recommendibg this cottage and the owners were very quick with the booking process
Thanks again for a great 4 days
