Being my fourth visit to the hoste, Sadly, I shall never be returning.
Me and my partner booked two nights for £500 plus £25 per night dog charge.
Upon our arrival I tried to pay my balance for the stay in cash only to be informed. They are completely cashless now, as is the bar restaurant. Covid was mentioned, which I find absolutely ridiculous.
My last visits cash was accepted gratefully, upon a manager being found. They apparently found a way to accept the cash and put it in an envelope but stating they had no way to bank the money.????
Standing by my principles, I would never return to this hotel .
Me and my partner spent no money whatsoever dining at the hotel, we chose to dine at Socius No Twenty9 The White horse And bang in wells Which were all fantastic and we’re more than happy to take cash plus the generous tips I’m always happy to leave in cash.
It actually saddens me that bars restaurant shops etc are choosing to go this way.
I guess it’s their choice as a business not to accept cash I Personally feel it should be against the law.
Then we as consumers. Also have the choice to eat dine and sleep elsewhere.
I have to also state there was no pre-warning before booking that this was a cashless establishment

Third time we have stayed here and as always - perfect . The GM Ewan was fantastic at sorting a last minute room for us on our impromptu trip up to Norfolk. We got room 5 and it exceeded expectations. Comfy bed , spacious room and the opportunity to have a long bubble bath!! Breakfast was terrific as usual and the evening meal was a delight. Can’t wait to come back soon!!

I have just spent a very enjoyable couple of days staying and eating at The Hoste in Burnham Market.

The room was large and spacious and extremely comfortable. Great accommodation for myself, daughter and grand-daughter. The room was lovely and clean, and the bed was extremely acceptable to my bad back.

All the staff were friendly and polite and could not have been more accommodating. Travelling and eating out with an autistic grand-daughter can be very stressful but as the staff were friendly but not in your face, she was comfortable and therefore well behaved with no blow ups.

My daughter has a sever egg allergy, and the waiting staff and chefs ensured that there were no mishaps or cross contamination which put our minds at ease.

The menu range was varied enough to cater for our needs and allowed lots of choice. We had a Sunday roast on arrival which was more than sufficient portion wise, with a generous children's option. Succulent and tender beef with a good range of vegetables was an extremely enjoyable start to our stay. Our second evening comprised of Pan Seared Lamb Rump which was tender and juicy and full of flavour. The mint Béarnaise accompanying the jersey royal potatoes was absolutely divine. Breakfast both mornings of our stay for me was fresh fruit followed by a full English breakfast. Plenty to set you up for the day. The sausages were meaty and full of flavour which in my experience is normally a good indicator that I will enjoy the other items. My poached egg was soft centred but had no watery white which was just how I like them. Another plus was the knowledge that items are locally sourced whenever possible, therefore supporting our coastal trades.

The guest cinema and spa were also experienced and again found to be thoroughly enjoyable.

Would definitely return and have already recommended to work colleagues and friends.

I would especially like to thank Kyla who despite covering for colleagues out sick was polite, efficient and guided us as needed throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble when we asked, and our stay was relaxed and stress free assisted by her input

Thank you to all the staff, front of house and behind the scenes, for making our stay a visit to remember and a great mini break from the stresses of working life and children's school holidays. Your efforts are very much appreciated.
