Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback about your recent stay. We appreciate you being a loyal guest for the past six years, and it is disheartening to learn about your experience.
Your comments regarding the decline in our services are deeply concerning. We understand that we have not met your expectations, and for that, we sincerely apologise.
We are operating as a bed and and breakfast, which has changed from your previous stays and we understand that this may not be suitable for you.
Your feedback is invaluable to us however as we strive to improve our guests' experience. We are actively addressing the issues you raised, including staffing levels and room maintenance.
We also understand that the closure of our popular carvery is disappointing news. This difficult decision after Christmas was made after careful consideration and due to the carvery no longer being financially viable. The rising costs of food, energy, and staffing, combined with changing customer preferences, have made it challenging to maintain the high standards our guests expect, which many of our loyal guests understand.
We appreciate that the carvery has been a much-loved feature of the Tollgate, and we want to assure you that this decision was not taken lightly. We believe it's important to be transparent about our reasons for closing, and we hope you understand our position.
While we no longer offer a carvery, we want to highlight that there are several excellent restaurants in the local area, offering a variety of cuisines to suit all tastes. Our reception team will be happy to provide recommendations and assist with bookings if needed.
We also offer a variety of sharing boards and Paninis should you wish to have a light lunch or dinner with us.
