Touring
Queensland north of Port Douglas and came upon this nice little site. Well maintained although toilet block a bit dated..an excellent stopover. Pete the boss has a nice collection of antiques including a beautiful 1955 ford pickup.

Rooms are clean and basic, with a somewhat dated feel. The best bit was the shower, which was reasonably powerful.

The location is beautiful, over looking the Daintree River.

We were glad we were only staying the one night.

It's pretty much as other reviewers have described. Small rooms with slightly shabby decor. Friendly, helpful hosts. Probably a bit expensive for what it is. Cooking facilities if you need them. Right on river so great for early morning start on river excursion.

Don't arrive expecting a AAA+ campground. This is an amazing, very tidy, rustic campground. The amenities are a little quirky but they were always clean. great surroundings and the crocodile tours leave from the road beside the park. I would highly recommend this park to anyone visiting the Daintree or Cape Tribulation.

Room Tip: Try and book the lower section of the park it's closer to the river.

After a long day of travelling we made a last minute decision to travel and stay in Daintree Village. Pitched up and did a crocodile safari (which is a 1minute walk from the campsite) and then relaxed by the river with a drink as the sun set. Peaceful spot right on the Daintree river; there is an eating area which actually overlooks the river for great sunrise and sunset views. Funky facilities with lots of vintage collectables and relics. Something a bit different, including an indoor ice cream van serving coffees and toasties! The site is opposite the local pub and cafes for grub and down the road from the information desk. The owners are really friendly and even tried to help us fix our camper van when we needed to get on our way! We were thoroughly surprised to stumble upon this gem so recommend it as well worth a stop.
