We have been here twice. Yesterday it was Sunday roast and it was lovely. I don't eat meat but had a great salad bar and warm vegetable selection for only $8.50. Returned as Monday and Tuesday is kids eat free. Restaurant clean. Toilets very old.

Enjoyed a dinner there and much higher quality than the usual 'pub food'. Paid about $80 for 1 entree, 2 mains and 4 drinks (2 soft drinks, 2 alcohol drinks). Staff friendly and efficient. A big thank you to the staff.

I went with friends on Melbourne Cup day (07/11/17) I think there is a huge kitchen staff turnover because sometimes the food is just ok, other times not. The Chef yesterday didn't season any of our meals so they were bland and tasteless. My Alantic salmon was way over cooked. We all spent around $100 each throughout the day. Later we went into the bar where we joined some more friends. We saw an older well-groomed lady complain about a glass of wine. She said it was different to what she'd been drinking throughout the day. The young waitress denied it was different despite the lady pointing out that the wine was bright yellow and the original was white. Long story short; they refused the older lady service, then later two young waitresses escorted her out. She wasn't loud or boisterous and I heard her say that she was "64 years of age, an ex-Publican and had never been tossed out of a Pub in her life" She was clearly humiliated and embarrassed. Anyway, that's it for me at the Eyre. Next year we'll be going to a different venue on Cup Day.....
