This place has a lot going for it. The public rooms are great. Someone in the Kitchen can really cook. Pool is good etc., etc.
We had a standard room. It was almost subterranean and frankly no better than the cheap-o room we had in a budget hotel in Gatwick. The shower was ridiculously small but with thought could have been made acceptable. If there is the slightest suggestion of prop forward in your build you will struggle!
I had one of the least comfortable meals I can recall. The food was really good. We opted to eat in the dining room. Outside was a rather good a cappela trio. We could hear them from a nice distance. Inside was inevitable elevator music being played incessantly (this had already plagued us the night before). An essentially pleasant meal was spoiled by having competing music (well music and musak) assaulting the ears. The staff would not turn the non-live music off. Disappointing.
So good public area, good food (in a very restaurant sort of way), OK breakfast but indifferent and not cheap accommodation and nonsense!More
